The West wing facing Van Buren has Windows from the garage to the roof that would be adjacent to the second phase Sean posted above. The East wing does not have any windows facing Van Buren. With the news about the 2nd phase being over 100" taller than previously planned, I'm wondering if the 2nd phase will be a little bit more slender as to not block off the windows in said Western portion?

I was thinking mostly about the large center portion.

I thought I had posted about Phase 2 after pulling a records request, but after looking through the above posts, I can't find it. Not sure where I posted it, but here's a recap:

All they've submitted so far for phase 2 is a FACT Finding in June. I posted about the proposed 2nd phase in the FACT being listed at about 370' 6" per the project narrative. There were no new renderings of the tower included with the records request, but it does include markups. I suspect the tower design will not change from the original renderings aside from the new proposed height.

Here's my records request for Phase 2. Have at it: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10sHkSV2oM8-O6Re4VQxDiuf_Jt7yPnp3?usp=sharing

I admittedly bashed the garage too early, it's looking a lot better.

Thanks for the pics, Indy!

^^^
I've been saying this from the start, lol. If they would raise the height back up to the 370' range which was shown in the FACT, it would help offset the huge footprint a little. Whatever. I'll take it for the density. But for looks?

^ the good news is they didn't build this thing to appease us so we don't need to worry about it.

I will say that the completed portion looks unfinished at the roof line. Not sure what that's all about.

That is my thought as well. The corner looks like an afterthought and the roofline doesn't mesh with the first phase at all. Hoping they do a little revamping on the roofline. Not saying that I think they shouldn't build it, it's massive density to the area. I think I would like to see the parapet look similar to the first phase though.

The second phase would look much better if it was a little taller and a standalone structure. I definitely prefer this phase to the first phase. I hope this gets going soon!

So according to Clayco's website:

Quote:
Phase 2 of The X Phoenix will be a 27-story tower directly adjacent that will connect to Phase 1 at the amenity levels. Phase 2 is being built by Clayco and scheduled to break ground in Q2 of 2022.
https://claycorp.com/project/the-x-phoenix

Not sure whether or not it will hit its target for breaking ground.

So 7 stories taller than the 1st phase. Not too bad.

Rendering?

They have pulled a ton of permits already. I wouldn't be too surprised if they can pull off a late Q2 start.

I spoke with someone at Clayco and they said the construction start date is planned for mid May. They already have foundation permit in review and that's what they need to start along with utility permits which are already approved.

The other X property on 2nd just south of McKinley has a new fence up and is branded X Roosevelt. Is there any new development or renderings on this or is this staging/part of their development on van buren?
