Ottawa looking good in the sun on that last shot.

Last weekend finally flew over to Vancouver in a Twin Otter on September 11th (and was floating in the inner harbour in Victoria at 9:11 a.m.) Unfortunately a cloudy day, although the flight back was sunny. Leaving Victoria the path is always the same, coming back you never know the approach until the last minute because of the winds, it can be around the edge of downtown and flying towards it, or literally right over it at a low altitude and landing in the opposite direction.

For context and comparison here’s the same flight two years ago in October 2019 on a sunny day:

Love those Victoria shots, flying into the harbour is such an amazing opportunity to get some interesting angles. The City is looking huge now, it is definitely more dense and urban that even a decade ago.

I agree. These photos really show how much the city has grown. They are such great photos of Victoria. Views that are rarely seen too. Thanks so much for sharing these Zoomer.

Zahav - good point, didn’t really think of that in term of city vantage point, it’s really fortunate to be able to fly right over top on a commercial flight. Same with coming into Vancouver. Lots of density for sure, and even lots more coming up and expanding the current edges of downtown. Another ten years from now should be another huge jump. The density in Victoria is quite impressive. Even with, they've been able to largely preserve their heritage.
