So is it going to be right next to the Solow building as it looks from the view of that vacant lot, or set further west as in the rendering looking southwest?

The empty lot next to 9 W 57th will be another project which Vornado and LeFrak are developing. There haven’t been any details about it yet.

Sedesco’s project is a few buildings west of Vornado’s. There’s also a development site on the south side of 57th. Buildings were razed years ago, and an empty lot has been there for a long time. The lot extends to 56th, and that side is quite large.

I wonder if the owners of the lot also own the Hemisphere House next door, which is a market-rate rental on the SE corner of 57th and 6th. I believe that the owners of the HH owned the old Mayflower Hotel, which is now 15 CPW.

Here's a proposal for a supertall on that site.

That's awesome... out of their 5-6 options, the one above would be a great addition to 57th Street billionaire's row skyline!

I agree. Jeffrey Morris, Inc. owns the HH. According to ACRIS, in 2003, JMI also bought the empty lots next door (52, 54, 56, and 58 W 57th ).

The HH and the empty lots will be redeveloped. It’s a matter of when. I believe that JMI owned the Mayflower Hotel, razed it, and left it as an empty lot for years before selling it to Zeckendorf. The latter built 15 CPW.

This is the HH, and you can kind of see the empty lots next to it.

I’ll be elated when this PoS comes down.

I think it's for another site, truly spectacular though!

I like this project (of this thread) too... if both get built I would be beyond happy

Who knows when this will be built? The developer acquired the entire assemblage in 2003. Something very tall will rise there eventually.

I posted the wrong site earlier (the Vornado site). This one is just to the west of that.

Below are better images of the site in relation to the Park Lane hotel:

58th St

57th Street, you can see through to the Park Lane...

Am I just seeing things, or does the building on the left side of the street (where the vertical Park sign is) cantilever over the sidewalk?

Yes, the program seems to be following the example of One 57.

One 57 has a hotel component?

I love the design for this tower, just has that look that makes it stand out. Going to make an awesome addition to the 21st century NYC skyline soon enough!

Yes, the Park Hyatt New York. High budget but not unattainable if you want to splurge to spend a night on 57th street and then switch over to a low budget place for the rest of a few days.

The Park Hyatt is one of the nicest hotels in NYC. Very expensive, but worth it.

I bet this hotel will be in the same class, or even better.
