Saw that earlier as part of the BeltLine DRC

Shame those aren’t for sale, but otherwise nice density. More along Glen Iris should be like this instead of the modern homes we see going in.

I wonder how many units are being replaced as part of this. Each of which has been presumably more attainable rents for the area.

Based on the Google Maps street view it seems like 8 units in each building for a total of 16 units.

Double+ the units would be nice. The mailboxes for the units is located in front of the western building and has 24 slots/numbered. I was never sure if that was the right total or not.

Looks like it will be stick/Type 5. Never would want to live in a multi family stick/Type 5 (again). Did for about 8 months while selling my home and buying a condo and it is terrible.

Atlanta Housing is looking for developers for Civic Center project

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news...cx_testVariant=cx_3&cx_artPos=8#cxrecs_s
Quote:
Atlanta Housing (formerly the Atlanta Housing Authority) has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to find developers that want to take on the task of redeveloping an Atlanta entertainment landmark.

The project will entail developing 13 acres of the land where the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center has been for 53 years. The 6-million-square-foot property has just over 4 million of that square-footage allocated for residential development. An Aug. 31 summary of the RFQ described the process as Atlanta Housing "seeking a development partner to transform 13.12 acres of developable land into a vibrant mixed-use community that includes affordable and market-rate housing, office, retail, and hospitality."

The RFQ includes plans to retain facilities on the grounds, including the 1.55-acre Civic Plaza, the Performing Arts Center and the Exhibition Hall.

That's good to hear they're keeping the main building. I love the international style architecture.

Lots of equipment on site at Waldo O4W including a crawler crane. Not sure if related to Waldo or if they’re using the site for staging equipment at nearby projects, but it’s the most I’ve seen on this parcel all along.

Yes, and it's been used in several movies because of it's unique architecture - and because it's probably not a highly active area.

'Neighborhood-scaled' project proposed near Georgia Tech

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news...cx_testVariant=cx_3&cx_artPos=0#cxrecs_s
Quote:
Decatur-based Falcon View Properties intends to construct a four-story building at the intersection of 10th and Curran streets in Home Park. The development would include 34 apartments and a 1,200-square-foot commercial space that could be used for office, retail or restaurant purposes. A surface parking lot would have 31 spaces. The building would be topped with a 3,000-square-foot deck available for residents to access by stairs or elevator.

Several parcels of land make up the site, which is currently zoned to allow two-family residential structures. Falcon View Properties has applied to change the zoning to allow for a medium-density, mixed-use structure.

The project would replace five single-family and duplex residences with rents from $1,390-$4,290, per the application.

Speaking of surface parking...Looks like GA Tech is about to demo the two buildings in Tech Square at 828 and 830 W Peachtree St. Permits show they will be replaced by interim gravel parking lots until they are ready to redevelop the entire lot with their next phase of Tech Square.

Hmmmm, another loading dock for Spring Street. I hope the design by RJTR leans more towards The Emerson and less like the 11th and 12th Street apartments and The Graydon.

Old Fourth Ward Plans Go To Neighborhood Planning Review

https://whatnowatlanta.com/old-fourth-ward-plans-go-to-neighborhood-planning/
Quote:
The neighborhood planning unit for Old Fourth Ward Monday night will review plans for a 25-unit multifamily project at the southeastern corner of the intersection of Linden Avenue and Hunt Street, according to its meeting agenda.

The project would replace a single-family residence on a roughly 8,700-square-foot lot at 389 Linden Ave. NE with a new seven-story, 70-foot-tall multifamily building, plans show. The applicant and owner behind the project, which would rise just east of Central Park, is 389 Linden Ave NE LLC, a company led by Reshma Maherali, according to planning documents.
