I liked the Argos colours they wore on Saturday too, they need a little more white in there to provide some contrast but otherwise it's good. The only downside to Toronto's look is the absence of the stripes on the sleeves... the totally solid blue makes it look like a practice jersey. Not very recognizable. The previous Adidas version was nicer.

That said, I'm not surprised the Argos showed out the way they did. The way they threw money around with FA signings you had to know they'd be competitive. And they certainly looked like it on Saturday.

I noticed the absence of stripes on the sleeve too but prefer simplicity over the busy designs we usually get. On a more serious note, the Argonauts home game against the Elks this Thursday has been postponed due to positive COVID results on the Edmonton team.

Looks like Nichols needs to retire in Ottawa his arm is just too weak and he has no running ability. Good win by BC

Andrew Harris is back for the Bombers today... it will be interesting to see if he finds his old form after a long break followed by an injury.

He looked great, he made the Bomber secondary look pretty ordinary, especially in the first half. It is nuts how Calgary keeps finding QB after QB almost without interruption for over 25 years straight.

That said, happy to see the Bombers gut it out and win ugly in the end.

Nichols pulled early and Alouettes smoked the Redblacks. Ottawa definitely needs to find a long-term answer at QB this off-season.

I was at the game. I have no idea why Nichols was thought to be better than Davis. No strength on his throws, etc etc.

There was a group of Als fans who were having a hell of a good time. My biggest observation is that many or maybe most of the young folks at the game are there to party with their friends and the game is secondary. I'm not judging them because they are there at the stadium and adding to the atmosphere.

Ive never been to an MLS game, but that is the sense I get as to why the atmosphere seems so lively, cause of all the jumping and dancing and singing and booze and booze. Cause surely it’s not the game itself. Seems like a really fun time, something the CFL has to try to replicate,

So pumped to head to Calgary tomorrow to cheer on my Elks.

It should be close to a full building as they were over 32,000 as of Friday and weather looks good.

If that's what it takes to grow the fanbase, then it's a positive. Some of those people will start to gain more interest in what's on the field.

Though it reminds me of the old joke "I went to the fights, and a hockey game broke out"... in this case it's more like "I went to party with my buds at the stadium, and there was a football game happening"

Bombers finally win the Labour day classic just now! Eat it rider fans Fajardo looked like trash tonight and Bombers are back on top best in the West! Great run game, Collaros quietly putting up excellent numbers and 2nd in the league in passing and of course this truly dominant Blue Bombers defense I really like the club's chances this year to repeat as Grey Cup champs.

Great thing here by Ti-Cats owner Bob Young buying a beer for all his season ticket holders today for the labour day classic. Ti-Cats seem to do a much better job marketing and promoting their team than what MLSE doesn't do as it seems like a minor inconvenience to them owning the Argos.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are holding their home-opener on Monday and team owner Bob Young is helping his season ticker holders celebrate.

Young, who affectionately refers to himself as the “Caretaker,” had cards made up allowing each season ticket holder to enjoy one free beer ahead of Monday’s Labour Day Classic. If there’s one thing better than an ice-cold beer, it’s free ice-cold beer.

The Ticats haven’t hosted a football game since the 2019 East Final, opening the 2021 season with three consecutive games on the road. Tim Hortons Field will be rocking this afternoon when the Argos come to visit, partly in thanks to the early lubrication provided by the Caretaker himself.

That got me wondering so I looked... 2001 Stamps started out 1-4 but we all know how that season ended for them

In 2002 they started out 0-4 and missed the playoffs

In 2003 they started out 2-8

In 2004 under Matt Dunigan they started out 2-11 (!)

Then in 2005 they got it together again under Tom Higgins.

When I remember those years I always think back to the one year with Dunigan where they were terrible but they were a bad team for a solid 4 years... they just somehow managed to stumble their way into the Grey Cup back in 2001.

Yeah, it's a nice move and all... but I'm a season ticket holder and I never heard about it until seeing it on social media this morning
