Yeah, I still don't know what to think of these as they appear stubby. I liked terraced design of the earlier design better although it wasn't any taller due to view cone restrictions.

This would be a massive standout in Richmond. I see it as part of the meaty base of the downtown, where large but not towering projects fill around the core's towers. This is an area where tower on podium is less prominent - and while these are just that, they are large floor plates without setbacks from the podium wall.

Thank you for that. Totally agree. (With two 25-storey towers, this thing would be a looming beast; fine as is for height and scale). That said, I think it will create a CBD boom never exoerienced before in Vancouver. People, commerce, activities, this is going to inject some hot plasma into the CBD.
The outcome cannot be precisely measured yet, but it's gonna be' dy-no-mite' in whatever form it takes.

They aren't tall, but they appear shorter than they are because of the relatively tall Post Office podium.

i think i would've preferred the podium columns be clad in a limestone to match the old post office building colour (above) rather than grey granite. Overall great work though. Looking forward to seeing the activation of the facades and for new retailers to move in.

The original columns were in that gray granite - there has always been that disconnect between the bulk above and the columns below.
It looked a bit better in the 90s when the body was slightly yellower.
