You aren’t alone. This is great news, and other than Loblaws, adds another private large company locating there. Fantastic news.

Regina-based Brandt Tractor purchases Cervus Equipment of Calgary

By Jim Smalley
Aug 16, 2021 | 11:23 AM
Brandt Tractor of Regina is acquiring Calgary-based Cervus Equipment, valued at 302 million dollars.
Would it not be great if they announced a new 16,000 seat Arena attached to a new head office hotel tower complex

Sure, haha. More likely the headline will be Brandt Seeking Funding Partnership for New Arena.

Will Cargill's facility not make the entire city smell awful since winds always come from the west?

From a previous CTV Regina interview, Mayor Sandra Masters stated that "she recently spoke to Yorkton’s mayor about Viterra’s proposed [Regina] plant, as Yorkton currently has two canola crushing facilities".

“The only concern that they’ve heard about occasionally is the odour, and it’s not a noxious smell. It smells like food,” Masters said."

Good to know. I like the smell of food

Regina planning commission to explore density target options by end of 2021
The city can have suburbs that are more adapt for larger homes

Also this is such incredible news out at the global transportation hub hopefully we can expect some more major announcements

The thing about the "edge" of the city is it won't always be the "edge". Unless the city decides that there is to be no more urban sprawl, the city will always grow out before it grows up.

This is a fallacy. The prevailing winds in Regina are SE, especially in summer.

I think you are wrong. Anecdotally, I would say more often the winds are coming from the west.

Here's the stats from the Regina Airport.

The prevailing wind in Regina in the Summer is from the southeast. In Winter the prevailing wind is from the northwest. This is why the longest and most often used runway at YQR (13/31) is oriented Northwest - Southeast.

Although most of the jobs are in the dealerships and the product lines are completely different, so one would not expect cuts there.

I believe you are correct there is no need for a head office in Calgary no more

Actually, the statistical prevailing winds @ Regina, as of December 31st, 2002, were from the southeast 50.5% of the time.

Harvard Developments new tower? The facades absolutely should be saved. Period.
