Yes. I use to joke that the east segment will open first, but now I'm pretty sure openings will be relatively close (less than a year instead of two).

I have thought this all summer. How many months of testing will be required? Have we laid any track at all yet? Not to my knowledge. I am starting to wonder whether a 2023 opening is possible.

There does seem to be track on the Lester overpass, and there's been some noticeable progress on Uplands and Airport station this week, but it certainly doesn't look a year away from opening. It will certainly be the first project to complete, the other two projects are obviously a long way still from actual station construction whereas there's shells at least of all the Line 2/4 ones.

The question is how late the other ones will be, I mean they seem to be on track but the original confed line seemed like it at this stage 2. I expect like all other projects they will end up at least a year behind schedule too

Finally you'll be able too see what stop is up next from more then 20% of the seats without those godforsaken crossbars they placed in front of the signs in the current trains.
How those went through to production without anyone noticing will forever baffle me...

Haha! The Confederation Line trains had them missing on half the locations they could have been installed. Sometimes, you can look the whole length of the train and not see a next station sign depending on which way you are sitting.

The little next station signs next to the (some?) doors are useless. Not at all intuitive. LED screens should have over each gangway door at the very least.

Obviously, there was cost cutting going on. On such a massive civic investment, this kind of cutting should have not occurred. Again, choices being made by people who do not use the trains.

The City prioritizes giving suburban customers (the first to get on the train in the morning) a comfortable ride-in rather than having efficient passenger flow for quick dwell times. At least the Flirts will have more doors than the old trains.

I believe those little LCD screens are an accessibility thing, they are at eye level directly across from each wheelchair spot
