The online departures board shows it leaving at 14:45 from Gate 0. If anyone happens to be at Gate 0 tomorrow, see if you can get a pic

On second thought this does seem to be a false alarm. I don’t see this on any bookable flight schedule.

Probably the bigger question is…. Is Ottawa now allowed to accept international flights??
Up until now, only the big 4 were allowed that…. Has that changed?

Yeah it appears to be so. I was looking on my phone, so the gate number is not visible from such a small device. The Airport Authority does dummy flights sometimes. Maybe it was to reload IAD in anticipation of the first real flight a few weeks from now.

Today’s departure count was 31. Monday’s departure count of 38 if it holds will be the most since the start of the pandemic.

I believe all 3 were MAX-8s as well.

Which meant 6 MAX-8s were on the ground overnight at YOW (2 WS an 1 AC)

Today's departure count of 39 is the highest since the start of the pandemic. 5T again today had a 2nd departure to YFB.

YOW had an interesting visitor yesterday - an Air Sengal A330 (operated by Hi Fly Malta)

Not sure if it was a refugee flight or perhaps a charter with embassy staff from the Middle East. Both are pure guesses on my part.

Not sure if its still sitting at YOW right now or not.

Flight Aware link

Edit: it was a charter from Afghanistan. A flight carrying CAF members, including elite operatives and employees of the Canadian Embassy in Afghanistan landed this evening in Ottawa, as per DND.
