That is worth it.

There is no deterrent these days to man handling stars....players are aggressively working to neutralize players who are in the Top 20 in scoring like never before. The days of the enforcers are gone. Darnell is more aggressive which i admire.....but he has no where near the intimidation factor of enforcers of the past. In my Humble opinion.

His price went up because a number of his peers ( other defence men of comparable skill) just signed 9 million dollar contracts. That’s the way the market works.

Comparables are high and term leads to this kinda $.

On the face of it I would put him at 6.5-7.5.

Yes that's how it works and that's why sports and the NHL are less attractive to the average sports fan these days.

That's how it works

Really? NFL football is HUGE and look at what Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills QB just signed for. Don't say salaries are keeping the average fan away from sports.

Call it what you want - aggressiveness, toughness, tough to play against - he has it and it is something the Oilers have been lacking and need. With respect to the number yes other players have set the bar at that level and the Oiler had to pay or lose him.

Became an Elks season ticket holder for the first time ever and went to their game Saturday. It was fun despite the oh so close loss. There were a few people obnoxiously shouting out the dead name, hopefully it diminishes over time.

I was planning on purchasing one of the three game packs but I ended up having plans this past weekend, so it didn't make sense to miss the first of the three games. I do plan on going to at least a couple of games this season, which will be great considering I'm only two blocks from the stadium

It’s looking like the teams luck has left with the old name.

Last summer when everything was locked down in AB and BC we took our holidays in Saskatchewan. Went through Camrose on 13, Provost, Biggar, Saskatoon. Spent a couple of days there then on to Regina and spent a few days around there. Spent a day in Moose Jaw, a day in Swift Current (Speedy Creek), checked out towns to Medicine Hat, spent a day, then to Drumheller, and the next day home. Like 8 days. It was awesome. Saw Mosaic then but of course it was locked up. We always go to the Okanagan for a holiday and fruit and things but that’s off again this year. Likely do a 5 or 6 day weekend coming up. Just the Calgary, Canmore, Banff thing before Sonny Boy goes back to school.

Sunday is more community at the ITU event. 8-11 is an open ride on the course. Should be some fast times from local racers.
Then the age group non elite races. should be fun to watch. After I tackle Groat Road south hill 6 times.

Elks have announced multiple Covid positive tests for its players hence a postponing of their game against Toronto this week.

The score is

Smart Covid Virus - 7 Covid Positive Elks Players - 0 after the first quarter.

Interesting to see that going forward if a team cannot play it will be a 1-0 loss for that team.

^ More important if the Elks forfit the game and have a less than 85% vaccination rate among their players they do not get paid.

The players have said they have a tight locker room - see what happens if this scenario plays out.
