It was worth clicking on that just to see Bill Norrie and Bill Neville's smiling faces... blast from the past

What happened to the Leslie Building, though? It made it to 1987 so you'd figure that heritage protection would have kicked in. Or was it lost to a fire? It would have been a nice building to have on that stretch... it's easy to imagine it as a residential conversion.

The big building at Main and Mayfair is the Fort Rouge Curling Club IIRC. I think it moved out to Archibald sometime in the early 90s.

Not 100% sure but I think the building behind the Fort Garry was a transit garage?

I'm not sure about all that other stuff on Assinboine, though... it looks like it had a very different character in the 70s than it did by the 90s.

It was the Fort Garry Curling Club but they did move to Archibald when the new Main-Norwood bridges were built.

This building at Furby and McDermot sure has a sweet addition going on.

Edit: oh jeez sorry for the size.

^ I noticed that when I took one of my kids to the Manitoba Clinic for a checkup a couple of weeks ago.

According to Google Maps, something called Niche Technology is in that building. They're just adding another level?

I went on a bike ride earlier today and noticed there was excavation work being done on the intersection of River/Bishop Grandin (near Louis Riel house). It was a somewhat sizeable area but does anyone have any idea or sources for what could be getting built there?

Can anyone recall what all the buildings were on Assiniboine Ave between Main and Donald? What was on the Fort Garry Place site? Some bigger buildings down by HMCS Chippawa too. And what is the big building on Main at the end of Mayfair (South Point Area).
The old electric trolley bus garage sits where Bonnycastle Park is now.

Maybe this is finally getting going?

Looks like it was an addition to 136 Market and not a separate address. See the bottom of page 3 here

I'm not sure when it was torn down.

Ya looks like a nice brick building (maybe the brick is just a veneer I dont know). They're adding a glass top of sorts. Seems like 2 stories high maybe. Looks really nice in person.

The city is rebuilding Donald Street. The old road was filled with steel rail tracks and wooden railway ties. The part of the old road that was built on top of the tracks held up the best.

I'm sure that this has been mentioned here before but I can't remember for the life of me... does anyone know what is going up at Pembina and Point Road where that hair salon used to be?

Noticed today that 198 Sherbrook is fenced off and there is some substantial drilling and piling equipment on site. I'm really looking forward to this one.
