I had Tiny’s in CBS, I’m assuming they’re the same, and it was just okay.

I noticed that the McDonalds restaurant in the Aberdeen WalMart is being converted to a Burger King. Probably because there is a McDonalds restaurant very close by on Stavanger Drive. Contractors are currently on site but I don’t know the opening date.

Sometime last year a manager at Kelsey Walmart here told me McDonald’s had pulled out of all Walmarts across canada.

At that point it was still a couple months after our first lock down and they were all closed. I believe the mount Pearl and Kelsey drive Walmart’s have since seen their McDonald’s reopen.

Would seem odd for one Walmart here to have Burger King and others McDonald’s.

Coincidently, just today I heard of Burger King at Walmart locations in Alberta. I'd never heard of this switch before now.

Lots of people chiming in on twitter about what they hope/think it'll be. Everything from Olive Garden (not happening), Cheesecake Factory (not happening), Red Lobster (lol), Earls and Gahan House.

Walmart announced a couple of years ago that they will no longer have exclusive restaurant affiliations. At that time, they announced that several Canadian Walmart McDonald's locations would become Mary Browns. They said, however, that even though they will partner with several other chains, McDonald's would still be a major partner.

I just heard that it will be another microbrewery. Some sort of operation from PEI is what is going around.

Gahan House is an Atlantic Canadian chain of brewhouses - started in PEI. They have locations in Halifax and New Brunswick as well as PEI.

Well I guess Starbucks are gone from Chapters for good. I thought maybe they would eventually return as Covid levels decreased. But they have now removed the Starbucks signage from the walls inside. I might Add that it’s not really necessary for them to be in Chapters anyway with two new Starbucks opening pretty much next door with one inside the mall and one outside. Someone also mentioned that the other Starbucks further up Kenmount Road might close when the new one at the mall opens. Anyone confirm this?

Yes, I noticed Saturday and was going to post as well. That place was busy and it was always nice to get a beverage and explore some books.

I am curious if this is a Chapters Indigo decision, a Starbucks decision or what. Certainly a good opportunity for a other brand to partner with Chapters Indigo. But I figure they will just take the space for their own store.

I'm afraid I might have had a hand in the Chapters location closing. My last visit, pre-pandemic, featured my wife knocking a coffee out of my hand and spilling all over the jigsaw puzzle display. Much to the amusement of a nearby couple.

Perhaps a good opportunity for Jumping BeAn or Coffee Matters. Or something new.

The Starbucks further up Kenmount Rd (beside Menchies) just had a renovation. I highly doubt they would close so soon after thousands of dollars went into a reno.

As for the Chapters location, it would definitely be a great opportunity for a local joint to get in there!

Ches's Kenmount Road

Heard on KRock this morning that Ches's location on Kenmount Road has closed. Business is slow due to ongoing pandemic.
