The mall property looks and feels fantastic.

With a bit more life and buzz its going to be a great area.

Very exciting to have this over an empty parking lot.

They're still in the directory. I think they reused the signage to cover up the LL bean area. If you go to the corner of it, you'll see it lol. Who knows ♂️. I could really use some gelato though.
A new venue to go watch movies in an ultra-urban mall environment.

I know. This project has been in the works since rapid transit on Lougheed Highway (Now the Millennium Line) was in its planning stages.

And just for the sake of reference, here's an early draft of what is now The Amazing Brentwood, showing the early building arrangements.

I'm actually glad Brentwood Town Centre is right next to the railway corridor. In the future, should there be a High Speed Railway (HSR) between here and Abbotsford (let's hope), there can be a Burnaby train station built right here at Brentwood.

Via Rail is modernizing its Eastern Canadian service:

Is there any other Cineplex exterior signage?
Pretty underwhelming if this is all they have:

the McDonalds has a Now Hiring sign in its window now, so it must finally be getting ready to open.

What's with the McDonald's delay? I tried to eat there few weeks ago and was surprised that it's still not open. Additionally, access to it is extremely inconvenient considering the central location.

I peeked into the Suit Supply space, unless its smaller than it looks from the outside there seems to be absolutely nothing happening inside.

The optical store next to the Rec Room entrance at the 2nd floor main foyer is now opened. The 3rd floor entrance to Cineplex VIP is still closed when I was there around lunch time yesterday.

seems the Rec Room is a big hit, people are lining up to get in.

PEOPLE ARE LINING UP FOR HOURS TO GET INSIDE BURNABY’S NEW ARCADE

This 19+ entertainment centre was extremely busy, even with on-going capacity restrictions.

The line-up from the front door wrapped around the corner, through the rainbow bridge and all the way to the food court.

It's crazy that more than a decade ago when I moved into the Lower Mainland, Brentwood was just your typical suburban mall with huge parking lots, and only a handful of people used the skytrain system.

The towers have quite a bit of scenery from BCIT, even in the dark.

some updates from a drop in visit. There was a fairly long line up around 4 pm to get into the RecRoom, lined stretched to just about the eyewear store.

Tim Hortons has finally reopened and had a small lineup inside. They have added new tables near the Tim Hortons, as well as tables in the old Food Court area.

The plaza was getting some kind of stage erected and was fenced off near the Starbucks/Elevators.

The plaza itself was very busy, loads of people sitting around as well as a decent stream of people coming into the plaza from the skytrain.

The Urban Outfitters store is done, it was full of staff setting up the clothes and merchandise. I imagine it can open soon. Doesn't look very big but is a good addition.

The old mall itself all the closed stores are now behind white hoarding, so it's much easier to identify the stores that are open and there are many people walking around inside and the London Drugs was quite busy, busier than I have seen it in years.

Hopefully we can get some new retail in the Galleria and the exterior of the mall, like Memory Express or smaller businesses.

They only open at 4pm so I guess that makes sense - I've heard about Rec Room having long lines to get in, but I was imagining that was more of a weekend thing that a middle of the week thing!
