It is nice to see the project coming together. I was heading west yesterday and with the new paving for both the on- and off-ramps, it gave a good sense of what traffic flow will be like. I am really looking forward to the elimination of the merge choke points in both directions.

June 10th will see the reopening of the eastbound onramp from Mt Seymour Pky/Fern St, while the WB offramp to Mt Seymour Pky/Lillooet Rd will be closed June 11 through July 13.

The Hwy 1 EB On-Ramp from Keith Rd./Mt. Seymour Pkwy will be opened to the public starting June
10, 2021. The Hwy 1 WB Off-Ramp to Lillooet Rd./ Mt. Seymour Pkwy will be closed from June 11 to
July 13. This closure will help facilitate associated Project utility and roadway construction works.

Why can't you turn left onto Mtn Hwy north from 1 east bound off ramp . Plenty of room to do it. Who's the moron that came up with that decision. Same setup on highway 1 east at Kensington.

If you look at the overhead view, there are five lanes on the Mountain Highway overpass. Left turns to head north would have to cross four lane widths to reach the lane on the far side of the overpass, a fairly sharp turn given that the offramp is already angled to the south.There's probably only room for 8 to 10 cars per lane to hold on the overpass, which introduces the probability of backups that could lead to the intersection being blocked by vehicles turning left from the offramp. It is not impossible - the Lonsdale and Westview overpasses have similar turns - but the traffic flow on those overpasses is not ideal either. I'd guess that since there was no northbound access there to begin with, and given the higher-density neighbourhoods are closer to the Lynn Valley exit anyway, it was not deemed a priority.

Yeah, my first reaction when I saw it was negative, but when I thought about it, unless you're one of the few people who live at the bottom of Arborlynn, you're heading all the way down the Cut just to drive all the way back up Mountain if you had a left turn there. It makes no sense when you could exit at Lynn Valley Rd. and head down Kirkstone (Like it always was). You're probably not saving any time, and you're definitely not saving gas.

The EB on-ramp is now open.

By visual inspection of the area, the Lynn Creek highway bridge seems to have lost all of its wrapping and scaffolding, so it shouldn't be too much longer.

Big concrete pour today. Must be getting close to completion. This should have been done years ago.

Not having the existing terrible merge for cars coming from the east/Dollarton will speed up the two bridge through lanes. That onramp usually backs up so people coming that way are used to a backup.

Will be interesting what effect it will have on traffic coming from the west/Main Street onto the bridge where they currently just go straight onto the west-most lane of the bridge but soon will also have a new traffic control light.

They did another concrete pour overnight a week or two ago for the deck. I think this ramp will have the biggest change to traffic flow southbound on the bridge. Because anytime there is a lineup of cars trying to merge it will instantly backup traffic to Lonsdale because it's impossible for cars coming down to maintain speed while allowing people to merge into two lanes.

If they have two lanes on the Main Street onramp then I guess there will be enough space. From the animation they posted it was a single lane but the diagram seems to indicate more lanes or it's for a Bus only lane.

The bridge is almost never backed up on the deck headed southbound except for an accident so it will mostly be about optimizing the timing synchronization for the traffic lights/ramp metering.

As it stands today, entering at Main EB is regularly backed all the way up Lower Road, but I think this is typically more the fault of the lights between Brooksbank and Mountain plus vehicles slowing down to merge before the onramp than the onramp itself.

"To safely get two arterials connected to the bridge in one lane, there will be a new signal alternate access between Main and Dollarton. That is expected to be open to traffic starting in August of this year.

The west sidewalk and bike lane on the Ironworkers should reopen at the same time, Porter said.

So what's left?

- Main Street/Dollarton Highway Interchange and new signal alternate access (August)
- Getting the main through lanes back on the orange/green bridge
- East side of highway between Keith Road/Seymour Parkway Interchange and Mountain Highway Interchange
