I think there are some really attractive elements to this project. And there is the blank walls under the condos, the odd bracing at the top of North side of the tower and the balconies that ruin the appearance of the bracing on the south facade...

As others have pointed out, that NE corner parking deck treatment is also criminal. Looks nothing like the original design presented and really detracts from the more positive aspects of this development.

To their credit the Midtown DRC might have learned their lessons from this project. They were much more resistive to the underdeveloped and underrepresented portions of 811 Peachtree when it was presented last week. These developers (& the design team subsequently) are under tight timelines but we should expect nothing less than fully rendered views of all elevations of a project, not just one or two glamor shots. Anything less and you're coming back to next month's meeting.

In the driveway/entrance courtyard space, it seems like they should have some variation in surface elevation for pedestrian areas and driveway areas to distinguish between the two. That way you would get some type of “feedback” if you encroached into a walking space.
I do see the bollards and surface color changes, but the slender light fixtures are just begging to be bumped or worse by vehicles during a busy convention season.

This was no surprise given the lighting they played with on the garage portion of the development. I've never been a big fan of colored lights and this did not change my opinion. I give them points for creativity but, like Tower Place with it's green neon, this is almost too distracting. I hope they at least make the adjustment so it's not such inconsistent/spotty lighting.

There's a really well done full-block project in Downtown Nashville called Broadstone West. I wish this had turned out more like that. It is far more classy & sleek looking, IMHO. The bracing only going a part of the way down the north side just looks silly to me. And, as much as I "want" to like the balconies (great concept), it doesn't help the final look at all. More of detracts from it, especially with the bracing crossing in front of them. Ugh. I had high hopes for this project. It is more of a fortress where Broadstone West looks far more inviting and accessible.
