In it’s current state with the tunnel and buses on shoulders, yes, but they do use it because it is the only direct route to access the ferries from Vancouver and Richmond

I bet one is able to count the number of cyclists from Vancouver heading for the ferry with one hand. They should be no priority whatsoever on this catastrophe of a project.

Just to think that we could have saved over one billion dollars and have an awesome brand new mega corridor ready NEXT YEAR if idiot politicians wouldn't have been involved. It's atrocious.

It’s actually quite a popular bike tour to do (an island trip to Victoria or the gulf Islands) in the summer.

But I am just ironically pointing out that the original plan under the Liberals was actually more cyclist friendly than this new more expensive slap job with shoulder buses (not shoulder lanes, shoulders. They don’t have their own lane, instead the shoulder of the highway doubles as a bus lane)

Over 10 years since the highway 1 widening project started and they still havent removed the canvas construction tarps for mitigating environmental impact

I know the BC MoT puts absolutely no effort or money into making our highways aesthetically pleasing but this is embarrassing

These canvas tarps can be found lining the side of the highway from Vancouver to Langley. Absolutely embarrassing they haven’t been removed yet

There is a large homeless camp in those bushes. You can see a part if it from the highway.

Possible Tesla superchargers at Sprott/Canada Way. Seems like they aren't waiting or doing the Amazing Brentwood service centre:

Interesting location, not the greatest. But with Coquitlam and North Van recently added and busy already, they can always use more.

Just got back from a trip to the interior and used the new Princeton SC, 250kW and right beside the highway is the way to go.

How long does a "fill" take, and what does it cost?

"It depends" is the answer, but I stopped there briefly at 19% to get to 49% for $2.88, took 6 minutes. 30% of my battery is good for around 150kms.

The car charges faster when the battery is low, and warm.

5% to 80% in 20 minutes is probably reasonable. Charging is billed per minute, that 20mins would cost $9.60.

You won’t see Tesla chargers at any retail outpost
Tesla doesn’t offer revenue sharing with property owners
Landlords will always entertain third party chargers (charge point/blink) where they can see a return on their investment

They would have occupied the old Sears for a service centre.

Pacific Centre Mall has a Tesla supercharger, and there were charging stations at Oakridge Mall (and a couple may still be available?)

Oakridge wasn't Superchargers. They work well in spots with quick stop restaurants and other places that can get you a meal in ~20 mins. They take up a dozen or more spots, so you can't take over a small lot, but something on the edge of a bigger retail mall or plaza is typical. This is the setup in North Van, Coquitlam, Squamish, Blaine, etc.

Crossiron Mills in Calgary has Superchargers. Shopping malls should see it as an opportunity to bring more traffic to their property.

Petro Canada installed chargers that are capable of charging at up to 350 kW all along the TransCanada Highway. They charge a flat 33 cents a minute to use them. I personally think they should go on a per kW model.

per kW is actually not legal in Canada except when the utilities do it.

Funny even BC Hydro is charging per minute for their chargers.

And they're charging the same rate as the other networks. I think that's all because as a crown corporation they don't want to be seen as having an unfair advantage over the other companies.
