The Rona site is also going to be redeveloped with I think its 4 towers. It's to the west of the skytrain station there. Going to really be a big change.

Coquitlam Central site plan from UrbanYVR.
Hotel is probably the one with the large canopied drop-off (lower right corner):

The strata one is the top right one with the large balconies I guess. Office/hotel is that short stubby bottom right tower.

Coquitlam usually has elevations available (even if it is a bit of a roundabout way to find them) so hopeful my we can get some official heights on these towers.

Downtown Coquitlam will definitely be the most hidden of metro Vancouver’s upcoming major skylines, but that will make it a nice surprise to those who venture into that area.

If you mean Scott Road and 93A, not really. Most of the strip malls along Scott Road here are pretty old but other than looking a little dingy it's fine - and hey it was going to be redeveloped anyway so why go to the expense of prettying it up.

N Delta was already planning on having a few nodes along Scott Road (I know it came up on here before) and this one is a strip from 92nd to 96th Ave. They need to do it not only to make Scott Road nicer but also Delta needs the property taxes from people living here.

I find the nimby complaints kind of funny as they're living just off a main drag and they're complaining about traffic and a tall building blocking their views. If you look on a map you'll find they're pretty insulated from both Scott Road and the whole development area (more than just this proposal by the sounds of it) - and there's a row of trees so they won't even be able to see all the lower buildings, only the tower.

My only real issue with this (and I'm sure I mentioned it before) is the train tracks that run right along the edge of it. But if people want to live right next to still used train tracks then so be it.

Time to get the RapidBus moving - Scott Road's going to be a big corridor twenty-ish years from now.

You do get a great view of it coming into the City on the #1, as you descend down the Port Mann. It's already starting to look pretty good tucked away in there.

the Boston Pizza that was across the street from IKEA was knocked down a few months ago after being sold, the former Sammy J's was also up for sale and sold.

So the old BP is looking to become a new two level car wash.

At the corner of Lougheed and Blue Mountain, there is the tower which sold out pretty fast and is well under excavation etc now, there is a tower, Horizon 21, that is across from it that has been under a few different names but never seems to have anything happening, it has added stickers to its signage that says "67% Sold", I wonder why it's taking so long while as the one across the street took a matter of weeks not years to get going.

Details on the car wash - seems odd given the car wash that just went up across the street, and the existing ones down the street: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s...m-development/+&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca

More details: https://f.hubspotusercontent10.net/hubfs/7872712/Brochure_NationWide_V.pdf

BP closed the Coquitlam Centre location a year ago as well, not long after the one closer to the Costco in Port Coquitlam closed. Seems like some odd moves, but I imagine the Coquitlam Centre one had the rent go way up after skytrain arrived.

Yeah, the car wash is surprising news as the one down the street is very high capacity and already popular. It's not quite as good as the one on Terminal Avenue or in Edmonds, but it's worth the $8 wash.

'Nobody owns a view unless you’re on a cliff’: Tall tower for Coquitlam City Centre gets mixed reviews

A 25-storey tower — the tallest a building can go on the east side of Coquitlam’s Pipeline Road — is set to get the green light from city hall next month.
about 15 hours ago By: Janis Cleugh

Quote:
On Monday (June 28), after a public hearing generated mixed reviews, city council unanimously gave second and third bylaw readings for the development planned at 1175 Pipeline Rd. that would see the current three-storey apartment, Rivers Inlet, razed.

Ledingham McAllister wants to rezone the property to build 202 homes in the Kadence, made up of:

136 market condos
57 purpose-built market rental units
nine non-market rental units
The developer is now working with BC Housing for the Crown agency to acquire and run the non-market rental units, according to a Coquitlam city staff report.

As well, Ledingham McAllister wants to add a 1,071 sq. ft. commercial space on the northwest corner of the building that, if constructed, would be steps away from the Lafarge Lake-Douglas and Lincoln SkyTrain stations, Glen elementary, Town Centre Park and the Coquitlam River.
