Patios are very safe places from transmission, given the spacing and outdoor environment. They should have extended the patio hours at least a couple weeks ago.
Over 40% with one dose of a vaccine, only 2% vaccinated.

Wow I didn't know 10pm was the rule. 11pm is the general noise rule right? Makes sense that they wouldn't go beyond that, since these patios sprung up all over the place.

Main St was packed on Saturday evening when I had a meal out. Vancouver is so much different in the sun.

On another note, the French cafe chain, Paul Bakery, Cafe and Restaurant just opened a couple of days ago on Robson Street. This should be the nicest cafe on that street now, provided it keeps up to the standard of those found in other cities I've been to.

Walked by there yesterday after work and saw a huge lineup in front. Was contemplating entering to grab a cuppa and perhaps a fruit flan, but thought would wait till the restriction for dine-in is over.

Glad you were able to make it safely downtown without being assaulted by homeless drug addicts.

If the lineups prove to be anything like when the one in Port Coquitlam opened, stay away for a few weeks.

Trees will be opening up a new location at 5050 Joyce St, the new condo developed by Westbank. Trees has several locations throughout Vancouver. Has anyone tried their cheesecake, coffee, tea or lunch? Just wonder how it compares with other coffee chains.

new place opening in Morgan Crossing. Chubbs.

They seem to be new and are opening two locations one in Surrey and the other in Grande Prairie Alberta.

The actual products aren't bad but rarely have I seen a more badly managed operation especially the store on Arbutus near where I work-staff turnover has to be seen to be believed.

That Trees has the dubious distinction of being the only food service operation in Vancouver where I've seen/heard a new hire call the manager Mr Fucking Asshole to his face while serving a customer (me).

Another of the closed Starbucks has been leased - the one on the east side of the Main Street SkyTrain station. With two others within sight, it's a reasonably safe bet it won't be Tim Hortons.

That's interesting, very curious what it might be. They swapped sides of Main during the great Main St Station renovation, but that side sees what, 10% of the Skytrain traffic? It's amazing how little. They will get a lot more when employees are commuting to the new St. Paul's though.

It's also a "standing room only" location, even pre-COVID.

The one thing missing in the area is pizza, and that doesn't have to have much space for seating. Fresh Slice, or Uncle Fatih's? It seems more likely to be a franchise.

Good call. Hope it's not Fresh Slice, they've gone up in price and down in quality at the same time. UF is great.
