One guy was super upset about all the dump trucks needed for excavation, but when you do the math it’s basically the same as if there were 300 single family homes. It is true that the emissions for this aren’t ideal but until we have electric dump trucks it won’t get better.
Someone in Fleetwood (so not next door to 103rd and 136A Ave) complaining about carmageddon and all the dump trucks needed (he does have a point about the school board report). That was hand wringing at it's finest. I didn't know I needed that humour today!

The grand plan is for 15 towers total. This is a portion of it and theyre redeveloping the entire city block which is great cause then maybe we can get some pass through streets. Same developer owns all the old 4 storey low rises in that area. Think they're tied to a pension fund.

It's a townhouse / lowrise apartment complex. I'd say no more than a few hundred, actually. 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 for them, but at least one of the buildings will be a rental unit to make up for it.

The other two apartment complexes on 104 are also approved for redevelopment.

I drove past this today, I was quite surprised as I had not heard the news. The area is going insane with development and buildings going up. unrecognizable these days. Also 200th street has had some more trees cut down to make room for some developments on the west side near the events centre. and more Development signs coming soon and quite a lot of office developments.

That's one building. The total for the plot of land is 2450 units if you look on the sign quoted so if you take a conservative 2 per unit average, that's nearly 5,000 more people.

sorry but that whole super block does not have 5000 no matter what your smoking.

that #2450 is for the REZONING APPLICATION. not what is on site currently.

the statement that 5000 people live there now is not logical.

Notice of development received today, for what appears to be the Centre Block area:

Two office towers
East Tower - 225 metres
West Tower - 100 metres

The East tower is described as a 47 storey office building, but would be the equivalent of a 75 storey residential building, which if built would be higher than anything currently existing in Greater Vancouver. However Burnaby’s proposed Gatineau Place Tower is 250 m or 82 storeys. Really exciting project for Surrey.

Really thought this would have made more of a stir on this forum than it has so far...

Any pic of the notice itself?

You would think if there’s this much demand for office space that Blackwood would get it moving on getting Central City 2 going..?

Any chance it could be the taller tower in this rendering? Or were these renderings 100% place holders? Or will it be somewhat similar in form?

If so, that would be a beautiful tower and very worthy of the title of being the tallest.

Oh jeesh now I see the confusion. I thought what the person said you were quoting is that that has to be a few thousand people for the new development. I see what he/she actually wrote though, "currently."

Ok yes I stand corrected you are correct only 156 units. I'm not incorrect in what I said that the new development would be that large.
