For those who may want a conversation on Trolley buses. The City seems to have decided immediately on battery-electric. There's never been any mention of trolley buses as a possible solution to our transit emissions.

Trolley buses are easier to maintain (buses, but you you have the addition of wires and poles to maintain), last longer, they are more environmentally friendly throughout their lifespan, from manufacturing, operational efficiency and end of life scrapping. For sure battery electric has a role to play for suburban express and milk runs to O-Train stations, routes that go on and off our Transitways along with many urban routes, but Trolley buses could be a good solution for BRT-lite such as what's proposed on Baseline and Carling. I'm not aware of their performance in terms of speed and acceleration however, if they are competitive with battery-electric and diesel, they could be well utilized along the S/E Transitway as well.
