I know. It's like 360 is saying "get the fuck out of my way" to 3rd + shoal lol.

I really like that view! All too often we just see North facing skyline angles.

Man, I keep wishing this was like 100 ft or so taller. It deserves a much more prominent place in the skyline IMHO. As things stand, it'll only be visible and noticeable when looking at downtown from the south/south-west.

Well, judging by the photos, it's around the height of the Northshore at the moment, which stands around 424. So there's still about 170ft left till it completely tops out. But yeah, can't go wrong with taller. Lol

It looks like the top of the building and the crane lost power. Maybe not, but they look pretty dark. I just noticed on KXAN's tower cam.

it's incredible how from any possible angle third and shoal is blocking a building that is 20x as aesthetic. probably the biggest mistake we have made with our skyline imo

Yes, that is one ugly building, for sure. It is something you would expect to see in Phoenix or San Jose, not in Austin.

Really, though, they're kind of in a throwaway location. They're really small lots sandwiched between taller buildings. They'd have to be considerably taller to stand out. So, I'm good with Third & Shoal being there. That building overall is kind of meh, but it does have a few redeeming qualities. The lighting isn't bad, and the glass is good. We could use more green buildings, after all. I'm not even the biggest fan of Austin Proper, and I feel like what makes it most interesting are the details, which aren't difficult to appreciate up close. So, even though that building is mostly hidden from view in the skyline, up close you can still appreciate it. In that respect, I'm more bummed about a building like The Monarch, which is interesting all over and has good lighting, but that is hidden from the skyline in almost every direction. I even forget about it sometimes.
