Thanks for the great photo update, McMinsen. What an improvement the facade restoration and cleaning makes. I'm excited to see this in person the next time I'm back in Vancouver, in the post-COVID after times.

I still have a really hard time looking at the juxtaposition of the new glass towers and the podium base. I know this would alter the historical appearance, but would it be better if the reddish brown portions are repainted with shades of perhaps a royal green colour? That seems to match the glass colour much better. Just a thought.

Roof top mechanical equipment will be hoisted in to place
Level 17 floor slab on the East side of the North Tower will be complete
Level 17 floor slab on the West side of the North Tower will be formed
Curtain wall glass installation will be complete on Level 19 of the South Tower
Curtain wall glass installation will be ongoing on Level 9 of the North Tower
Curtain wall glass installation will be ongoing on the Atrium between the two towers
Block wall installation will continue on floors up to the top of the South Tower
Drywall partitions will continue on floors up to Level 20
Fireproofing of the existing steel will continue on Level 10
Misc. concrete demolition will continue throughout building
Exterior wall framing and glass installation will continue along Homer Street
Exterior column granite installation will continue along Dunsmuir Street
Façade restoration on the West Georgia Street elevation is complete. Scaffold protection will be dismantled
Façade restoration is underway along Homer Street for the next 12 months
Landscaping will continue along West Georgia Street
Painting will continue from Level P1 to Level 8
Flooring installation has commenced on Level 5
The Hamilton Street sidewalk adjacent to the building will be closed for the duration of the project
The Hamilton Street southbound curb lane will be closed daily from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm (Monday – Saturday)
The Homer Street curb lane will be closed for the duration of the project
Noise exemption permits will be applied for all weekends and concrete pour days until further notice

I think the above grade parking ventilation is behind those vertical slots next to the fin signage? Though one of those also was labeled as a generator flue.

Wellll... maybe that white spandrel stripe is going to be the way it is. Look at this rendering I found on Quadreal's website.

If they are going to be light strips then I sure hope they perform better than the ones on the Telus Garden condo tower.

They just call it metal spandrel on the elevation docs. It also shows that weird single gap in the solar shade panels.
