The park looks good. The issue is more one of location. What is the point of the elevated walkways when there is no view worth actually looking at, when two sides are surrounded by blank walls?

as much as i hate the idea of locking up parks over night, i think we are quickly getting to that point in Vancouver... it is sad what has become of the city.

More kid-oriented features than I thought.
The railings, with the inward angle designed before Covid, come across as confining.
There should be some space on the north side, I think, where there's less danger of people spitting on you or crows pooping on you from above.

Looks like Landa Global was trying to buy the Evergreen House project but got outbid by Solterra? Thought it sounds like Landa might submit a better offer.

There's another hearing in a week.

It has a real African vibe to it, I like it. One or two towers in the city with such a busy pattern will add some nice texture. I don’t want to see every tower like this though...

It’s also the perfect size for such a design.

In light of the recent thumbs down on Councillor Boyle's housing initiative, which seems to signal an acceptance of the status quo (unaffordable housing costs > homeless people ...)
while it is sad to the point of being disastrous, with solutions like tiny houses at hand left ignored (look at Seattle and Portland in contrast, as examples of citiies taking steps to mitigate homelessness) it seems almost a perverse poetic justice that that may happen.
For some reason, the city and the province have let the housing crisis run wild, while all the time paying lip service to it, and if it spills into the public realm .... well, they've been warned.
It is tragic that both the park-going public and the homeless people will suffer for it.

Hahaha! That’s right, I forgot, to respect all non western white cultures these days we must package them into boxes, police who can proctice them, and make sure they never change / evolve / become part of the larger world culture.

It reminds me of the beach front properties in Southern California, Newport Beach and Santa Monica (I've vacationed there in the 90's).
Colorful buildings along the beach looks good.

Well just maybe you might get your way as it is in Vancouver. Perhaps it will be painted grey. Perfect for those grey 9 months of the year????

My god. The will manage to make what was already an ugly building even uglier. Unfortunate state of things for such a visible corner. They should have just torn down the old building.

Not liking mediocre art at a giant scale is not equatable to wanting 'grey.'

I like it, given the location. It'll add some interesting colour to the area.

I can understand why people don't like it though.

I like it too. Is it painted? or some other material?
