Calgary and Edmonton are building LRTs because they are more useful for their purposes than commuter rail. They essentially are commuter rail anyway, but they don't have to deal with running on other people's infrastructure. No one here wants a train to Regina and it's pretty insulting to keep being told that's what is best for us.
