Gatineau Place in Lougheed will do that.

A real shame...

Image of the physical model of Tower 2 (The middle tower - that I believe will be the first one to go up) with the Concord Pacific VP Peter Webbb, standing nearby in the model shop.

I believe they're scheduled go to Public Hearing for this project phase in Early January or February 2021 according to the City of Burnaby's projects page (which was just recently updated), and construction should start not too long after that.

(P.S. the model in the background looks to be one of Telford on the Walk by a different developer (Intercorp) that's slated for the lot just behind the Sun Towers projects on Beresford between Telford and Sussex on the south side of the mall and Skytrain line.

I could be wrong, but I'd put good money on it.)

Nice! That will be 165m.

Hope the tallest tower is the second to be marketed.

With the shared podium amenities, I would think all towers go up very close to each other. It's going to be quite a sight to behold in a corner of Metrotown without any towers yet.

I am super excited about these towers don't get me wrong, but I do wish there was a bit more "going on" design wise!

This complex is going to have quite a few new amenities. I wonder how much all of this is going to cost the residents?

Expanded, Heated Balcony

Those are some that are going to cost the most - things like an exercise room and tea house will be pretty low cost. They've been hyping the egg shaped conservatory with a tree so I'd suspect that'll stay. Heated balcony - hmm I wonder if people will want to pay for that perk. I'm betting the barrel saunas will be scrapped.

As a Finn, having a barrel sauna would be a bliss. Fortunately we do have a sauna in our building, but not too common.

Enclosed balconies are super common in Nordic Countries. I am surprised that we haven't seen those almost at all before.

So we just started building concrete balconies with thermal breaks for energy conservation, and now we are going to reverse that and turn concrete balconies into heat radiating fins. Cities will need to revisit their zoning definitions for indoor and outdoor floor areas.

They are just built in overhead natural gas heaters. I mean if they were heating the actual slab you might have a point.

They only cost 7K each so doesn't seem that outrageous. Does any other condo have that kind of enclosed glass balcony configuration in Vancouver?

I wonder who pays for repair of that glass wall (which is cool, btw) and the heaters, as balconies are usually limited use common property (ie the strata?) Curious if they remain well aligned over time.

One downside of this I can see happening are more Craigslist rental ads with the advertised "living space" including any balcony or patio space sqft...

Concord's Instagram is stating the first release of the west and central towers are sold out and that the grand tower is going to start selling this summer. Sounds like this one is moving quickly which is great news!

That is some fantastic news. The Metrotown Skyline will look great with a true pinnacle.

So that essentially means they plan to build all three towers concurrently?

The podium amenities seem to hint at that route.

Great news. I wonder how much the sub-penthouses and penthouses will sell for? I bet 1.5 million won't cut it anymore and we are talking about 2 millions+.

Great find! Thanks for showing.

Driving down Kingsway is going to become quite the sight.

I do hope that an even taller tower than this is eventually proposed closer to the station near the existing office towers. That’s the perfect spot for Metrotown’s tallest.
