This design would connect Wooldridge Square to the Governor’s Mansion and, if the parking lot next to Wooldridge tower into a park, to the State Capitol grounds with a pedestrian promenade. Lovely idea, as it extends functional park space and could help drive foot traffic between county civic space and the state civic space with a direct pedestrian connection.
In fact, having radiating pedestrian promenades under CVCs from the state Capitol grounds would be a really smart use of space and expand the pedestrian experience of downtown in a synergistic way as neighboring parcels not subject to CVCs are developed.
