I work downtown and the increase in the number of zombie/addict/mentally ill people is shocking. I guess it is the same everywhere. It is a complex problem and I do not have the answers, but I know that letting addicts do whatever they want is not the solution.

There are a ton of decisions this council and the one before have made that contributed to the decline of downtown.

Old CBC Building. Sask Archives doesn't need all that space. A main floor office would be accessible and convenient.

This link may be useful:

Remember this is just speculation on my part. It makes the most sense from an available space & public perception standpoint.

I believe is is the CBC Building on Broad Street, half a block north of where CNIB was (2440 Broad Street).

Archives is located at the back of the building from what I know.

Steel for the south Albert Ring Road bridge replacement is all up. We can look forward to a summer of road restrictions next year as well for the second bridge. In addition to the bridge work the approach ramps and cloverleafs are being re-graded to accommodate the taller bridge. North side is done and covered in tar to prevent rain erosion. South side road work was started last week.

Out of curiosity, how do you know the other bridge is being completed next year? The sign only says “bridge” but just curious! Additionally, how do you get on site to take these photos are you a contractor? I’ve driven by a few times obviously intrigued just not sure what the protocol is to get on site. I assume orientations etc, but not sure! Also, do you know when the bridge will be complete?

I'm assuming they are replacing both since they were both are in awful shape. The west one has probably taken more hits from high equipment. It was in the evening and no one was on site as I was biking past from the south, so I dipped through the ditch onto the north ramp. Highway conditions site shows an completion date of October 15th.

I should make a big imgur gallery of all my construction photos. I took this one back in 2014 of the bypass bridges over the CP line, you can see the abandoned Ekaton off Dewdney plant in the background. Those bridges were built as part of the West Regina Bypass and sat unused for years with a dirt track leading up to them from the north and a paved section to Center Road.

Oh interesting, that’s a fair judgement considering the condition of the other bridge. I guess I just assumed given you were somewhat on site, you were a contractor or something. The bridge seems to be progressing quickly, and it’s fun to watch considering how public it is. I drive past it regularly but never thought of stopping to jump out and get a closer look… Don’t want to intrude on someone else’s site I guess was my thinking lol

Judging by your posts, seems that you also know a lot about bridges!

I wouldn't say I know a lot. But when it comes to road construction projects it is the most interesting aspect visually. Scraping ground and filling with road base is pretty boring and doesn't make for good photos.

Roads can be boring, but sometimes boring can lead to something interesting.
