Future Ottawa Skyline Renderings

Hello, Ottawa subforum! I figured I'd start off 2021 with revealing something I've been working on for the past couple of months. For those who aren't familiar with me, I've been working on creating Google Earth renderings of skylines across Canada for the past couple of years. Today, I present the first iteration of my future Ottawa skyline!

As of right now, it is far from complete, as I have barely scratched the surface of the Ottawa development scene. What is happening in Ottawa-Gatineau right now spreads far and wide with the new LRT and I am very excited to be working on visualizing what is sure to be a very expansive skyline by the end of the decade.

Please let me know of any developments that I am missing from my model. I would greatly appreciate more information on developments in the area since I am not familiar with the Ottawa-Gatineau area.

I hope you all enjoy my work, and I am looking forward to continuing this project into the future!

Here's a list of buildings so far (by addresses):

2 Montreal (3)
17 Aberdeen (1)
50 Montcalm (1)
99 Parkdale (2)
100 Bayshore (2)
115 Champagne (1)
153 Chapel (2)
163 Parkdale (1)
176 Nepean (2)
213 Rideau (1)
245 Rideau (3)
267 O'Connor (2)
341 Gloucester (1)
383 Albert (2)
400 Albert (3)
500 Preston (1)
845 Carling (3)
861 Clyde (6)
900 Albert (3)
971 Gladstone (3)
1335 Bank (1)
2050 Scott (1)
2070 Scott (1)

Total # of new towers in skyline: 46

Amazing wok. Thank you!

There are a quite a few projects on Rideau and Scott.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sea...archid=2200654

There's also phase 3 of East Flats:

Zibi, but it might be harder to find individual projects since we have one thread for the entire development.

A 31 floor tower on Parkdale.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=200308

Blair station area.

1040 Somerset:

1179 Cummings (4 towers).

Here's an invaluable resource for such a project, the City of Ottawa Development Application tool.

This only scratches the surface, but I hope it helps.

Thank you for all of that information, it's going to be very helpful!

I hope to have the next revision out sometime soon with all of these additional developments included. I also realized that I forgot to add in the Claridge Icon, don't know how I missed that one.

Based on your renderings, the towers near Dows Lake, and Trinity will be bonkers tall...at least by Ottawa Standards...

Awesome work Eric, thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that tall Richcraft (Sky Tower?) tower near Dow's lake is cancelled. Not 100% certain about that, though.

One I see that is missing is the proposed 18-storey seniors residence on Sparks St beside Christ Church Cathedral. I'm thinking that it should soon be under construction, no? Not that tall, but in a very prominent location.

Also the Claridge East Flats. But still a great rendering job.

The zoning is approved and it's right beside a LRT station, so if Richcraft doesn't develop the site, another developer will.

So very cool - was always jealous seeing other cities that had these done! Not certain if Westgate tower(s) is there?

Well I was initially just going to do SoHo Italia next to the icon but I got carried away and ended up doing a good portion of the active proposals in the area. Trinity should be somewhat accurate in terms of height and location as it was based off a google earth view with the massing. Gladstone/loretta and claridge Hintonburg height and placement are rough guesses. If @ericmacm could take a shot from this vantage point on his model then I could adjust to have the perfect heights

Also finished up the balconies on the icon as its seemingly never going to be done by claridge.

Great job! Bayview is going to be so tall it is going to "insert" itself in the skyline from almost every angle!

I've been working on a big update to my Ottawa-Gatineau skyline recently and I'm now finally ready to show it off. I have updated it with the large-scale redevelopments of LeBreton Flats and Zibi, including with towers that aren't formally proposed, but planned. I will be updating them as the plans become more concrete. The city is evidently transforming very quickly with the introduction/expansion of the LRT system, and it will be very interesting to see how it continues to evolve/intensify into the future. Personally, I'd like to see the area hemmed in by the Rideau Canal, Highway 417, and Trillium Line be full of towers someday.

Anyway, as always, I hope you all enjoy!

The list so far:
