Most of these valleys in Southern Interior BC are just simply to small to reasonably support much population without either becoming extremely expensive or cramped.

Kelowna is the only place with somewhat reasonable amount of land in its valley. It can probably hit 500k before it would have to go full Hong Kong.

The only other place in the southern interior that could theoretically support a relatively large city is probably the Cranbrook/Kimberley area.

Some of my skyline shots from the last couple weeks. Not the highest quality, but not bad for a phone cam

And virtually every tower in this picture didn't exist 10 years ago. Forgive the hideous/wide "Vantage Pointe" tower

What's the story with the vertical K-car art?

For all its flaws, Griffintown has at the very least added some heft to the skyline. I remember when downtown ended abruptly south of St-Antoine street and the Bell centre.

Indeed. the area has been largely transformed. it was a wasteland during the 90s...you could literally shoot a cannon down the street and hit nothing.

Has the city ever discussed building a new train station over at Pointe St. Charles or somewhere else near the core? If HSR ever becomes a thing and train travel becomes more popular Montreal Central Station doesn't seem like it could handle any sort of huge increase in traffic. I know it has an impressive 20 tracks but it only has 1 line in 1 line out.

Sorry hopefully this doesn't throw us off topic for too long.

Traffic jam on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge due to the new police checkpoints. Looking towards the ByWard Market and the Rideau Street table-top tower cluster behind.

And looking towards Hull.

That YEG Shot had to be this weekend. Just after the big Ice break.

Just checked the source. Yup Sunday. Interesting how green Mayfair is already.

Halifax looking northeast from St. Mary's University campus in the South End.

Dominion Public Building, revealed from under the scaffolding not too long ago. Citadel ramparts visible at the top. Queen's Marque shows what the scale of the older Art Deco buildings is like. The 6th or 7th floor of the Bank of NS is taller than the 10th floor of a new residential building. Those white balconies seem like an oversight.
