Thanks for posting. I guess the phased approach makes sense because the Queen tower will be condos.

Walked by the site the other day. The mass of this thing is imposing from the south side. Not often you see a full-block wall of this height these days.

Its a shock to the system considering this entire area was a parking lot for as long as I can remember.

I might be wrong, but it seems that Claridge is the only developer who gets away with shear walls nowadays. Pretty much every other development over the last decade has a podium and set-backs.

I think they are one floor away from the top of the lower building at the corner of Albert and Lyon. the Southwest tower should keep sprouting up from the current block. It's hard to tell if they are going to build up on the Lyon and Queen tower over the subway station yet.

I'm hopeful with this one. I'm expecting Tribeca quality, which is pretty decent.

Haven't they converted all of their urban format stores to the Farm Boy banner?

Please, not another Farm Boy. Farm Boys are fine, but give me some variety. At this point, it's like Farm Boy has exclusive rights to transit, with Rideau, Bayview (Trinity Centre), Westboro (Westboro Connections) and Little Italy (proposed residential complex). Add Metcalfe and this one, if it is F.B.

I hope to see a full service grocery store. — that people only have access to food via the various Farm Boys linked to or near transit while having to walk to pharmacy a few blocks further for bulkier items like toiletries or pet food.

I’m surprised that Loblaws hasn’t developed a separate urban format brand apart from the upscaled inner city stores. They should go head-to-head with Farm Boy and have City Girl

To me Farm Boy is more of a specialty/fruit and veggies grocery store. i can never do my full weekly groceries by only going to farm boy.

Also isnt Metro suppose to re-open at the other Claridge development on Rideau? if thats the case it seems they dont simply do business with Farm Boy/Sobeys. there's still hope it wont be another farm boy at Moon.

Yes, Metro is supposed to return to Rideau. They have an urban store in the Glebe, and another planned in Hull as part of W/E II, so it's a possibility. At least that's what I'm hoping for, Metro on our metro.

With Independents hooked on to Presidents Choice, isn't that kind of the same thing?
