Please, can anyone confirm or deny if they know the final idea of the criss/cross pattern on the glazing whether it could possibly be a lighting feature? From these great pics you can really start to notice the pattern and hopefully, in my opinion, this would be so?

Those corners look rough. Quite shocked they didn't use curved glass here considering how very little would go such a long way in this case.

No idea. Could look good if executed well and tie into the Granville St light tubes too.

Considering this thing is 0% leased and extremely inefficient to begin with I'm not surprised they didn't have the budget for curved glass, even just a few pieces a floor.

It would have looked nice though, you're right.

That ductwork looks like it'll impact the curvature of the ceiling.

I'm excited to see the wood treatment to the lobby/plaza roof and how they build it out. Should make for a pretty warm space.

The spar ceiling under the tower is being installed. It looked pretty good to me - reminiscent of the Telus Garden canopy in some ways. Sorry - no picture.

Thanks for the heads up. Really looking forward to seeing this when it's finished.

Thank you for going out and getting the pictures! I'm looking forward to seeing it too. It's so interesting that the 'wood' isn't actually wood at all! I guess it should be more durable. And it also looks like they're installing a mesh net above it so it doesn't become a roost for birds. If so, that's more thoughtful than some of the design details we've seen around the city in recent years.

Thanks to computer aided design, manufacture and installation. In the old days, attempting something like (no one would even think of it) this would require hand craftsmanship.

Looks like some of the curved pieces have built in bird spikes as well along the top edges.

International Style with a slant ....

601 West Hastings seems close to topping out, if it hasn't already. It is reminiscent for me of numerous buildings at La Défense, sort of the "business downtown" of Paris.
This one has clevery crafted angles which enable it to harmonize with the diverse buildings in its 'hood, as well as complementing, but not competing with others on West Hastings.
Also, the neighbour going up, and the small-but-dense high rise cluster it is part of all contribute to the "big city feel" developing throughout the central city.
I think architecturally, we're doing a good job, in this node of downtown, anyway.

They — well better, because otherwise that thing just screams pigeon heaven.
