That's so funny! As you were posting them here, I was posting them on Reddit. They also posted two images a month ago from the 16th floor facing east and southeast.

Liberty Sky is gonna have some amazing views!!

Thank you for the photos Atlas and Layrasm.

I'm impressed by such incredible views from Liberty Sky. I shouldn't be, but from the outside it almost seems, to me, like Liberty Sky would be surrounded by too much infrastructure to offer the views one would want from a high rise building.

Ha that is funny timing Blah. Also, thanks for the 95 State views Layrasm! I love how different the proportions are from east/west compared to north/south. It looks like a different building.

I think my favorite photographs of city skylines tend to be in dark weather/or even better at night time. This building has really filled in since I last saw it.
I agree that these are the best photos of 95 s. State yet. Thank you for sharing!

Nah. Definitely not my ISP.

But anyway, I was just offering a suggestion to stop polluting this board with dozens of photos that then are quoted so we get a double, even triple dip. It's annoying. You're right, though, people can continue being annoying and not at least being mindful of others on this forum. it wouldn't be the first time.

What would be ideal is to just create a thread for posting photos and leave this thread to discussion. But that's not going to happen and I get it.

Anyway, here's some cool photos I've found:

This version of the post has everything in spoiler tags.

Let me know if this is preferred to the post above, especially for a post that is a little longer.

Personally, I fear I often miss stuff that is stuck in spoiler tags (especially when I am skimming or trying to find the image posts from the past for reference).

However, for longer posts of this type I am willing to put everything in spoiler tags if that is prefered by everyone.

I still think I will keep to my usual format for new projects.

Yeah, it’s dead center with Mount Olympus, blocking it for Liberty Sky in the future. Which means Worthington will have the best views east when it’s built.

At this point it would seem like the east side of 2nd East would be a better bet if your thinking highrise views of the Wasatch. It remains to be seen for sure, but I was surprised that 2nd East was even on the table for highrise construction.

For some weird reason, my posts keep going down or something.

I assume you were trying to make some sort of point, Comrade.

However, as I wrote before, I'm fine with people linking super large images that don't fit on the page. I've never posted an image as large as the many you just posted, so I don't consider it the same thing.

As I said, I will continue to post appropriately sized images on this site in the same way I have for the past four years. In particular, for new developments. Otherwise, why the heck are we even here!?

I prefer spoiler tags ONLY if the images are huge. Otherwise, I quite enjoy scrolling through this forum and finding pictures. After all, most of what people discuss here is related to the visual aspects of a given project/design.

I skip over most of the discussion/opinions and go straight for the pictures. If they're all in spoiler tags, I might miss a few good ones.

I pretty much think exactly opposite of you on this issue. I skip over most of the discussion/opinions and go straight for the pictures. If they're all in spoiler tags, I might miss a few good ones.
Same here. Whenever I see Blah_Amazing as most recent post at the top of the Mountain West Forum I am very jazzed to see what new info. he has posted! Keep up the great work Blah...

Same. I love seeing appropriately sized images in the thread. I miss a lot of stuff if it is in spoiler links. Definitely put the massive images there, but for everything else, I am a fan of pics in the thread. Keep it up!

I honestly think we do a pretty good job collectively of not posting huge photos and not quoting posts with lots of photos. It happens occasionally but I am rarely annoyed on desktop or mobile.

To change the subject, what do you all want to see on the former Hotel Newhouse block eventually? I think there's a tremendous opportunity there for CCR to do something unique and beneficial to the city. One idea I had would be to build some dense mixed-use buildings around the perimeter of the block and have an interior green space/park that would be accessible from every side (Newhouse Park?). I guess Pioneer Park is only a couple blocks away but I do think downtown SLC would still benefit from having more green space.

The block actually has a colorful musical history, once being home to the Terrace Ballroom as well as the Newhouse where the musicians stayed.

Quote:
The ballroom has hosted concerts by many famous artists, including Kansas, Frank Zappa, Grateful Dead, Wishbone Ash, The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, KISS, The Police, Alice Cooper, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane & The Doors, among others. In addition, weekly dances were held with a live orchestra every Tuesday night until it closed.

Given this history, I wonder if it would be a good spot for a new small/medium-sized outdoor/rooftop concert venue, which would have the added benefit of bringing more feet and dollars back to downtown. Maybe something like this proposal in Denver:

What do you think?

I'm guessing your post was removed for calling out Comrade on his trolling post with huge images. A recent post of mine was removed for calling him out. I don't understand why Comrade's post wasn't removed--it was rude, and it clogged up the feed.

I agree entirely with this, when I skim through the forum I'm looking for photographs, not spoiler tags. I wouldn't change a thing about the way you post on here, your project descriptions and photo collections, formatting and all are top of the line and honestly the content I look forward to most on this forum as of late.

The spam photo post last night was blown out of proportion of what photo posts really look like on this forum, and frankly it was the first and only time a photo post has been annoying in the history of this forum. Not sure why this forum is so selective with who gets moderated after clogging the forum with useless contentious bullshit and who gets to persist with baseless negativity. I'm starting to believe this forum holds favor to those who lack interpersonal skills.

I don't think anyone is in a place to critique Blah_Amazing's posts given the amount of quality content they put out.

Lol, I think Comrade’s post was a smart way to make his point and it was funny. I agree large images are brutal on mobile devices, but I am happy for content so I am not going to make an issue of it.
