From what I was told is across 130 from Tesla would be SpaceX manufacturing. They will make the starlink satellites.

Time will tell. So I guess Tesla would either lease or sale the land to SpaceX.

Edit: If SpaceX is building there than that's a SpaceX contractor moving the dirt right?

Pretty sure SpaceX and Tesla are two separate companies. In addition, Tesla is a public company (you can buy stock) while SpaceX is private. We know Elon Musk has a significant position and presence in both companies though.

You are correct. I did some research on the topic earlier this morning. SpaceX, Boring, etc. are all separate entities with Musk probably having a controlling interest in all of them.

Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk has revealed that the company will soon need more than 10,000 employees in the Austin area.

The electric car maker had originally estimated it would create over 5,000 jobs at its rising factory in Travis County, but Musk tweeted on March 31 that the company will actually double that estimate by next year.

"Over 10,000 people are needed for Giga Texas just through 2022!" Musk tweeted, sharing a screenshot of an Austin Business Journal story published earlier this week about the company's hiring plans, including comments from Chris Reilly, Tesla's director of recruiting and workforce development.

Manufacturing experts have told the ABJ for months that the car manufacturer could create 15,000 jobs because of the scope of Tesla's planned operations. The company has said it will offer an average annual salary of about $47,000.

Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) plans to produce its Model 3s, Model Y SUVs, Cybertrucks and Semi tractor-trailers in Central Texas. The factory will also host a battery cell manufacturing unit.

Elon Musk is going BIG in Austin.

Huge news. Went from 5k to 10k. That complex is gonna be one of the biggest in the world when fully built out. Still waiting to find out what is going to be built west of 130. Speculation and rumors are running rampant as to what they are preparing to build at the location.

Idk why my post got deleted. Let me clarify by saying with Tesla being built as well as Space X U/C right by it. SH 130 will start looking like IH 35.

I couldn't see that your post was deleted, but you did make one about I-35 and SH-130 in the economic thread:

I knew SpaceX had something going on - is it confirmed under construction now over by Tesla? I must have missed something.

And yes, 130 is going to be nuts before too long.

Can you confirm that SpaceX is U/C where the new land prep is occurring? What source please?

Man, all those people who gobbled up undeveloped land on 130 and 45 years ago are *finally* about to see a payoff.

I wonder if the 3 acres I inherited in a trailer park 3 miles away will be worth anything

I spoke too soon. I should of said the possibility of Space X or the new Tesla HQs is U/C across from the Tesla site.

Video Link

11:50 mark you can see them clearing land which is on the other side of SH 130. I can't find it at the moment but someone did a post a description of the recent land purchase from Musk across from GigaTexas.

What I want to hear about now is the HQ move, if that’s even still on the boards now.
