Translink police probably just asked them to leave for better photo-ops during the relaunch of the escalators. Sooner or later they will be back because CoV does nothing to enforce City street-loitering bylaws. I always feel sorry for the Bay, and think their business would probably be a lot better if they have more welcoming and clean frontages. Same thing can be said about Army and Navy, which was in a way worse situation than the Bay.
With that said, I think I will get down here and then test the brand new escalator up leading to Granville Street on my way to work tomorrow: cheap thrills I know.
