If it’s the bottom part that bothers you, there is speculation there can’t be excavation because it’s an industrial brown field area and has to be built on a pad. I think looks wise it will all come together in the end.

I found this in the FAQ's section of their website. They mention:

BIG proposal!

The bulkiness of the building and its street level presence leave a lot to be desired, IMO, but it certainly represents an unprecedented vote of confidence in the South End and a major density boost.

A couple of the more interesting amenities on offer include an electric car-share program (great idea!) and an on-site café. Considering the location right next to Tin Can Beach, it would be great if the café was accessible to the public as well.

I find a lot of times final plans change. From a distance kinda looks like a skyline on the building facade. Will definitely be an improvement to that area. But look at lot across from it where city dumps snow - wonder if that can be developed. Exciting that a small tract of land like that will house around 250 people. That’s some good density

Can the city make sure that the exterior finishes are consistent with these renderings. If so, I'm fine with it. I just don't want another aTlAnTiC metal shed.

It’s fine I guess, not going to complain at all about more density and positive attention on the harbourfront, but it is very lifeless and doesn’t really do justice to the site. Overall this is one of those buildings that is a good addition at the time, but standards will go up in the next 10 years and we’ll look back and wonder how this one got through (Halifax went through this same progression).

Wonder if this would be the biggest residential building in NB? Probably more units than Brentwood Tower in Millidgeville.

I personally don't think so. It will be in our big retail area of the city and the space will be larger for them, I do believe. (Plus, they will have a parking lot for parking). Overall, I think it's a good location for them (being in a busy shopping/commercial area of the city).

Honestly the Landmark would look better if it had, like, a bit of asymmetry. A six-storey pediment with an additional six storeys on one side of it would have the same footage and a much less blocky profile.
