Looks like new seismic bracing for the tower?

Isn’t that the second time that tower has been covered since it was built?

Yes, I think the last time it was scaffolded was for post-tension cabling repairs. Not sure why this time, maybe windows?

If it's Pacific Point II then Bosa retrofitted it in 2013.

Quote:
Bosa Development Corp. is preparing to launch sales in the next week for its renovated, 21-year-old Pacific Point building at 1323 Homer Street, near Drake Street.

Bosa bought the 214-unit, 28-storey building last year for approximately $80 million, president Nat Bosa told Business in Vancouver February 18.

"I'm spending a helluva lot to remodel," Bosa said. "The bones of the building were good but otherwise, we've changed everything – from scraping the ceilings to make them smooth, changing all the kitchens, floors heaters, sprinkler system and water pipes."

The project was built at a time when there were plenty of condominiums on the Vancouver market, so the building's owner operated the site as a rental building, despite being stratified so each unit could be legally sold.

Unit prices will start at slightly more than $300,000 and range up to about $2 million, Bosa said.

"We don't have our disclosure statement yet," Bosa said. "We'll go to market in the next week or two."

They got the Bosa warranty on the building when they converted it so maybe there's some remaining warranty work that needed to be fixed.

They extended the Port Living/Terrace House bankruptcy until the start of May so they can finish their negotiations on getting someone else to takeover the project.

I am going to go on a tree park limb here and say that this little inner city park with not much grass and picnic space is going to attract a lot of spray paint vandals. Because if I were a petty little, drug using, spray can carrying degenerate, I would certainly leave my mark all over this shiny new hidden space. Very easy to hide in in those dark hours. Looks like Vancouver may have done it wrong...........again. This city is incapable of having a space like this stay new and clean, also, we all know Vancouver likes to 'build it and let it fall into disrepair'. Shame.

Nice! If there is something the city is doing right as of recent, it is embracing mural art in many places. These make our gray city more interesting!

Ironic for me, that just before this mural post, I commented on a different eh em, kinda art that we keep seeing in Vancouver and that is the spray paint vandals. Well, I have go on the record and agree with Klazu, Vancouver IS doing this part right and really should keep it going. As stated, our city is quite grey and is in dire need of these wonderful murals for color. Awesome stuff, saw a news story by I think Mike McCardell, right when the young woman was starting this mural. She did a great job......Kudos.

Wow. It's fantastic!

Fairview has become amazing with the murals everywhere. It's pure eye candy.

Love it. Murals just bring so much soul and vibrancy to a neighbourhood.

534-550 Cambie St - Vancouver Heritage Commission

Unlike the UDP, the Vancouver Heritage Commission’s motions are crafted before projects are presented. Despite this, there were several amendments before a 4 -2 vote supported this 22 floor office building’s plan to honour Newspaper Row’s history.
