Oh yes I knew there'd be a historical reason for it. Just not used to seeing an unparallel grid.

The one in the foreground left that's a narrow 12 storey tower or so with a lowrise portion to the left of it? I don't think there are any plans for that one.

That area is interesting for having old and somewhat architecturally distinct highrises (with that professional building being a dud). The Tupper Building to the right is from the 1950's and Spring Garden Terrace, not so visible, is probably the first modern high-end apartment in the city, from the 50's. It has a unique appearance and brickwork and should be a heritage building; I hope it doesn't get ruined. The owner is building an 18 or so storey addition to it soon and tore down some Victorian houses nearby to use as a construction staging area.

Foreground right has 3 towers proposed in the 30 storey range so might be changing considerably.

I think they were referring to the Maritime Centre from the first picture.

Amazing what a couple of well placed skyscrapers can do to a skyline. I used to look at Edmonton and immediately think it looked dated. Now it looks sleek and modern.

Nice Toronto shots. Say, would anyone be able to tell from the clues in this video where Serge Ibaka used to live when he played with the Raptors?

https://youtu.be/hH3q58prqTY?t=85

Just curious, as I can't really make out what building that would be.

Based on the view, that would have to be the St. Regis (former Trump Tower).

Montreal never had a Trump Tower or a Trump Hotel.

A positive effect of Bill 101!

(Though he and Ivana met in Montreal I think.)

Ah, okay. Had me stumped.

Second question: where did the tilt function and cardinal direction swivel option go in Google Maps? Why would they have gotten rid of them? I really liked zooming in on skylines and looking at them from different directions, but that seems to be gone.

Or am I doing something wrong?
