I drove by yesterday and I did not see any signs of work on the balconies. In my dreams, the long stall is because they are waiting for custom glass.

The orange tarping facing east was removed a few weeks ago after, I want to say, years (?)

I'd like to think, like many of you, there is a slight possibility that the balcony railings are delayed because they've decided to splurge on custom railings after seeing the shitty job so far. This is suppose to be their "Icon" after all.

It would explain the delay on finishing the balconies and the almost complete lack of balcony glass connecting to the building but I guess we won't know until they either start taking the glass down or continue installing.

My (second hand) information is that the railing supplier went out of business which would explain the delay. How do you match someone else's product?
There have been new installs but it seems mostly infill rather than new floors.

What a shame, it looks like Claridge got a really good deal on those railings. Maybe Dollarama can finish the order.

I noticed today that some of the railings on the upper floors seemingly have different glass compared to the rest of the balconies on the south side.

We can only hope that this was a test to check other suppliers and that they came to the conclusion that they clearly don't match... otherwise this tower is going to become even more of a disaster than it already is.

Looks like temporary glass, not even installed up to the edges... but... we're talking Claridge here so....

It's like a box of Lego with a picture of a beautiful building, but a kid snagged a wicked deal on a returned open box that didn't have the building's railings. The kid is a cheapskate so they ordered the cheapest possible generic Lego railings off of Ebay to see if they would fit. They didn't, so now the kid is trying to stick on whatever railings they have in their mixed bin of Lego at home.

As I mentioned before, perforated metal railings would have looked sharp on that building and really accentuated its curves.

I would have settled for the same dollarama railing, if it had been front-mounted and covered the slab edges as shown in the original architectural renderings?

I think the installation issue is that each balcony is slightly different. The cheap railing manufacturer has to put in custom orders for the one-off lengths at each end of the balcony.

This is a process that can't be done in advance, because they hired someone with an ok-looking truck to stick on some railings, so what the guy with truck does is install the basic parts, until they can't fit any more segments. Then they take a site measure, call-in the order, and wait 6-8 weeks for delivery of the custom panel at the ends of the balcony.

It is also starting to look really good from the East where the construction elevator used to be. I would take a picture but I only ever see it from my car at 130km/hr

Looking forward to this one being completed so we can all make our final judgements.....including more complete looking balconies on the South.
