Here are some pics of the co-working space at Zibi from Rodney Wilts.

- new ideas need old buildings. Looking forward to seeing this fill up.

Very nice! Zibi has to be one - if not the best - development going on in Ottawa. Dense, Mixed-Use, Variety of architecture, modern, sustainable.. almost hard to believe it's going on in our city (sounds much more of something that would happen in Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal).

Good job buddy!!

Nothing earth shattering, but a nice, competent building. Certainly a few steps above standard Ottawa (with Gatineau generally above Ottawa design wise, when it comes to new builds).

I LOVE this design. It'll look great along the water. Can someone tell me, would this be considered international style architecture? Kind of reminds me of The Barclay in Westboro. Despite its age (and showing it), I have always thought it was a beautiful building. Certainly better than anything else the 1970's brought to Ottawa.

It reminds me of the Stonecliffe Apartments on Bronson, one of my favourite buildings in Ottawa.

I'm a fan of those as well. The balconies contribute to the design, but also provide more outdoor space to tenants. Far better than the standard slab towers with smaller balconies that often look tacked-on.

Some renderings I've never seen of the now completed restoration of two industrial buildings in Gatineau.

Feds investing $23 million in the Zibi District Energy plan.

Seamus O'Regan speaking passionately about climate change. Never seen politician express themselves that way. Doesn't feel like a "show".

Cladding is going up on the Quebec side rental tower. Unlike the renders, the brick is dark grey but seems high quality (looks similar to SOBA).

We'll see how the rest shapes up but its a bit disappointing they didn't stay with the light palette.

I agree. In a district where energy efficiency is top priority, black brick is a strange choice. That said, it may just be accent brick.

Good to see all white roofs.

Sounds like Hull might get two grocery stores within the next 5 years (with W/E II).

Based on this article, I assume the Albert Island office building will be the old warehouse across the inlet from the War Museum.

If they really want people to not just live there, but live their lives there, it is a must add.

The last major grocer on de l'Ile was the Loeb store at the corner of ALLUMETTIÈRES/CHAMPLAIN.

I believe the old Tigre Giant on Eddy is closed or is closing as well... so feels like its time.

Ya, unfortunately the Giant Tiger closed, before the pandemic I believe.

Very happy to see the Metro planned for W/E II and another grocery store proposed for this new office building at Zibi. Too bad they weren't able to get a grocery store tenant for the old Loeb/SAQ to better distribute services.

The design for the Tesasini Park (on the Gatineau side) should be revealed tomorrow at the NCC board meeting. it appears on the agenda. I'm intrigued to see the plan for an area that gets flooded almost every year

Very interesting. I'm not sure I've seen a park carved out of rock like that.
