No. 31 looks great, less brick then the last version I think though. I hope they use a high quality curtainwall on it.

Construction on this one is starting soon. It will be situated at the back corner of a suburban style Real Canadisn Superstore parking lot in a relatively urban area of Ottawa.

Park space on the left of the first image is the Byron Linear Park, a former streetcar RoW. An O-train tunnel is u/c under the park two kilometers west.

Near the west end of Laurier Avenue in the Escarpment District. The heritage home will be fully preserved and include amenity space and condos.

The redevelopment north of Dufferin Mall looks beautiful. Especially the brick and window detailing at the retail level.

I just hope the mall is retained. Indoor malls are a huge benefit in the winter and Dufferin Mall has a good selection of affordable staple stores.

Improved underground Pedestrian connectivity to Dufferin and more heated areas to wait for the bus would really improve things.

No. 31 Condos is so watered down.

The brick needs to be 'grounded' With brick pillasters and wall sections continuing right to the ground, preferably with quality metal or terracota accents. The round cheapo white concrete columns are just lazy.

I can't stand floating brick grids with gaping sections of glass. Brick and solid materials should start at ground level.

Huge proposal for Burlington, ON. The city is actively pushing density along the GO Train corridor (this is right beside a station) rather than downtown to encourage Toronto commuters to move there.

Info for next week's public meeting is here. OPA required so this will be years and years away yet.

Another development has also been proposed in Burlington, right beside another GO Train station (no renders, but a site plan is seen below)

There will be 2,494 residential units, and parking will be in a four-storey above-ground building at the north lot line, or in five levels underground at the south end. Phase 1 will be at the northwest corner, with access from Drury Lane along the old Holland Park driveway. The project will have 2,730 parking spaces... The project conforms to existing zoning — no height limit."

Brookfield Property Group joined a partnership with InterRent REIT and CLV Group to develop this project.

Edmonton should do more buildings like that. Kind of gritty, seems like a good match for the city.

The Senakw project is really cool. The architecture is unique and feels rooted in its place - it's something that could only be in Vancouver.

The brick box pattern on this looks like a first year architecture student project. Really elementary design gimmick with poor execution. Wish we could swap this for the CG Tower in Vaughan. That's what this one seems like it's trying to imitate, anyway.

(Also why do Toronto developers seem to love using Arquitectonica so much?? They're not good. And I can't imagine come any cheaper than a decent local architect)

May as well live on the moon and commute by space elevator, this is so alienating.
