They started Installing curved window panels today. Looks good. These buildings are very photogenic.

I knew these towers would turn out well.

Seems that there was some skepticism when the tower was about a third of the way up, but most reactions now seem to be positive.

I find it very odd that there are no balcony rallies up yet, just the one on the south west corner (it's been there for months now).
I'm sure most of the lower suites are 'clean do not enter' zones. The odds are good for the railing installers to leave a few ding marks along the way.

Curved glass looks awesome.

Personally, I think the condo tower is too busy (and there's all that spandrel in the grid).

I completely agree with you...the patterns on it keep changing...in my opinion it's actually a mess

also the street level Drake frontage is so chopped up into small segments...for a building of it's scale and girth, a more robust and simplified base would have been more appropriate...

The Hornby frontage isn't any better.
At grade on Hornby the pattern of concrete columns, windows, vents and spandrel is pretty irregular.
Although the carrera (?) marble around the entrance is nice, it really have a lot of visual weight. It would have been nicer it it went to the top of the podium on that corner. It may look more unified if/when the exposed concrete grid is painted white or light gray. There's a l;so a difference in the application on the Drake and the Hornby sides. On Drake, the marble is flush with the slab edge above. On Hornby, it is inset from the slab edge above. It comes across as a marketing ploy to evoke luxury.

It looks like "design by committee" where everyone had their pet project that they fought for.

When they've sold it. Which they haven't tried to do yet.

That’s not true. Every project starts before selling out. What kind of percentage of sales would they like to see sell before starting construction ?

Did I say they had to sell all of it? They haven't offered it for sale yet. As I understand it, if they're funding with a bank or alternate financial institution, they usually determine the level of sales that needs to be achieved.

No problem - what I said was a bit ambiguous. It'll be interesting to see how much longer they wait to start sales. It's been quite a while since anything went on sale successfully Downtown. I can think of two that went to market either last year or in 2019 that didn't get sufficient sales to start building, both in the West End. Quite a few others have delayed going to market, and even some rental buildings seem stalled.

I hope tower 3 will get going soon as it will extend the tall building skyline nicely northwards.
