Awesome update, mcminsen. Thanks.

Nicely adding density to the area. Hadn't seen the progress in person since summer and was impressed by the transformation of the area.

UPDATE FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 30

On Saturday, January 30, construction crews will be lifting the structural frame for Scotia Tower’s lobby skylight into place.

This work will start at 8am and finish at approximately 8pm.
Please note, the following areas will be closed and not accessible during this time:

The main Scotia Tower Lobby (including the entry tunnel). Tenants can access the building through the mall or 2nd floor via Granville Street.
The entryway to Scotiabank and bank machines.
The curb lane and sidewalk on both Seymour and West Georgia Street.

I noticed a column poking through the plastic, so I guess that's where the new structure will sit.

Note the big steel rods extending from the facade corners.

The steel rods on the NE corner are for an extension of the canopy.
(The ones on the SE corner are for a fin-like curtain wall)

McMinsen, thank you for all your tireless work with photo updates. Living back east, they're the best way for me to now keep track of all these projects in Vancouver. It's often thankless to put in so much work (walking, photos, editing, uploading, and posting), and I say that as someone who happily put in a lot of my free time a decade ago doing the same thing covering the buildout of SEFC and ongoing development downtown, but it is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, the development coverage by McMinsen really keeps us to date on things. I think this is going to be one of the snazzier entries on the new buildings roster.
Too bad it doesn't have more 'profile,' that it is not in a more visible location. It seems rather sleek, rather elegant, and the flared base of the building is smart-looking.
