What an odd area to put the raised structure, at the one corner of the park that isn't abutted by the ass-end of other buildings. A triangular-footprint building at the east corner would've recouped some of the costs of this park and obscured the eyesore of those rear building facades.

It's retail. Makes more sense to stick it on the corner than at the back of the lot.

They can take their time. Better than having some grand opening in the middle of COVID rampant, rainy February.

A close look at the concrete shows that the workmanship is lacking.
It's really rough looking.

That's why god created concrete grinders and gray paint.

I think it'll be clad with something - metal panel or stone?

I took a look at the rendering and it looked like dark gray paint.

If they're putting non-park uses in anyway, they might as well put in a small building to hide those rear facades. What an ugly spot to put a park

I mean they're sticking a bunch of trees to block those facades.

Gray paint? Oh well. Easy to paint over graffiti, I guess.

Yeah, they chose the only parcel in the area where the neighbouring building has a "back" that was designed to line up with another tower.

The back of that building would be a good spot for the Vancouver mural fest to put up something cool.

I think there are too many windows in that wall for a mural.
May end up looking too messy.

All that horses!t aping the High Line will be sad and torn down in 10-15 years. What a stupidly-busy over-designed pile of garbage.

I'm assuming the park will be locked up like a federal prison at night with a nice 12 foot fence.

I feel like buying a bunch of bolt cutters and leaving one in the vicinity once a week. Along with some blankets, snacks and a bag of party favourites.

Very much this. Prime real estate for a mural.

I do hate to be a downer too, but the bride ideas is asinine on this scale.

In reality its going to be a 20second stroll on a bridge to nowhere, for no reason.

Should have saved the money on the bridge scope at least, which I imagine is up there near a million.

The back building (where the trees are) is a Bing Thom at 889 Homer, I'm not sure I'd call it ugly. But when it was designed the assumption would have been that it's just going to be facing another building across the alley, so in that context I'm surprised it's that nice!

'D'accord.' I find it cluttered, overdone and contrived. Also all thse sharp angles provide more opportunity for a painful contact. A subdued round one
and a pretty water feature'd go great.
