Wow this is a nicer proposal than I expected. I love cable bridges and the s-curve is nice. That park on River is so underutilized (probably because most people use River as a thoroughfare).

I'll have to dig into the ped bridges again some time. There are plans for some bridges, specifically U of M over to St. V ital. That one likely part of the transit plans.

I don't believe there is any funding in place for the downtown bridge right now. It's at the top of the list in terms of ped bridges. It's supposed to be an iconic landmark type structure.

I am so glad they chose this design. It's going to be great having an active transport link here. Can't wait to eventually use it, but we'll cross that bridge when it comes

I think this gap is not the greatest, the problem is that it's pretty far down the list of priorities to be filled. As far as surface parking goes, it's probably one of the less offensive ones that exist

It's a great design - but it certainly doesn't look cheap...

Hopefully they have a realistic budget expectation for this.

I don't think anything. I think that garage and parking lot has been there for many decades. I wonder if it was a gas station too at one time?

At first I shuddered at the thought. Within 10 seconds I began to think, this could salvage the building & rescue it from becoming another St Regis.
Some of the elements from The Marlborough Inn Hotel are exceptional & desperately need to be restored.
There are 2 sections, the older Fashion mall that have been offices and of course the Hotel itself.
My preference would be a complete reno & something similar to what they did in Montreal @ The Ritz - Carlton.
Have the cafe, dining room, ballrooms remain, possibly some greatly renovated boutique style, smaller number of guest rooms than now, perhaps on 1, 2 or 3 floors? with the rest as residential.

My guess is they’re going to utilize the federal affordable housing funding initiative and convert it into affordable-level long-term housing. Seems like the owners know their market and would likely aim to stay with it. I don’t expect anything fancy.

Love those views from the Medical Arts. I think staring out the east-facing window of my old pediatrician's clinic there as a child was one of the things that formed my appreciation for buildings and skylines

Interesting to think that the view, which is already dominated by new buildings, will change again over the next couple of years as TNS is built out.
