Good to see it might get going soon. There has been some work going at the highpoint site next door a few times when I have passed it in the past couple of weeks.

I drive passed that new Rental in the Blue Mountain area just south of Austin in Coquitlam and I don't think anyone is living in it yet, most of the units are still empty. Maybe it's too expensive? or not needed? or covid has affected it?

Might still be waiting for occupancy permits?

the presentation centre is close to Holdom station just east of Brentwood.

I didn't know it had been approved. I drove past tonight, looks like the apartments are emptying out. Only a few places had signs of people living in them.

That's weirdly far away- they wanted a higher visibility location I guess?

Not the biggest fan of this one at street level, especially on the Farrow and Smith sides. Towers look ok though I guess, and the pedestrian pathway breaking up that block is a nice addition.

Noticed that too - incredibly excited for this next phase of Burquitlam's future. Good to see the jobs there too!

I dunno, I feel like this would look way better if they just connected the shorter building to the tower as a podium.

... or reversed the positions so the chunky lowrise is on the visually heavy side of the tower that has the grid.

Posted by Billard Architecture twitter Jan 5th:

The side caption is cut off but reads "The S..." "513 B..." "New W..."
I can't tell if either elevation shows a stepped tower.

Haters gonna hate, but we're liking it.
30 storey, mixed use tower for .... *shhhhh*

I think it's a value engineered version for 513 Seventh St., New Westminster - also by Billard.

I am in RCH right now, its pretty busy, ER is a crowded mess, its amazing all the hallways that lead to more hallways and rooms and doors etc. I really can't wrap my head around where that first render will be. Looks good though, the hospital needs some attention and upgrades etc.

I'm doing better, I had a TIA or form of a stroke or a pre-stroke. Long story short because of covid and not being able to see my doctor and trying to get medications right my blood sugar was high for too long and being diabetic thats not good. I also had bursitis for about 7 months in 2020 and that really didn't help either. But thanks, I am feeling ok now and am on track with proper care and medications to get back on track.

Is Burnaby General next on the list after RCH? Burnaby General is falling apart.

Edit: yep, 2023-2027.

I see there is an application for four 6-storey buildings in the Edgar/Guilby/Lougheed area (north side), just across from where the Ramada is, to the West. Will be a total of just over 320 something units. Most of the site still has homes and people living on it. The block to the north is also getting some new buildings.
