You were looking in this thread, and the Molson Brewery isn't in Downtown?

Subsequently Concord have said that material shouldn't have been accessible, and it's out of date because of the nearby Squamish Nation / Westbank Senakw towers project.

Yet another office tower proposed for rezoning, this time on Cambie Street. It's sculpted to avoid shadowing Victory Square, but still has over 250,000 sq. ft. of office, and over 17FSR. Picture source and more details on the Changing City blog, or on the City's website.

Solid! I really like this proposal. Great to see office to continue activating this part of downtown.

I'd much rather have seen a taller but more slender building, this area is shaping up to be a sea of tabletop artificially stubby buildings. IMO shadows are not a major concern; during the winter everything casts a bigger shadow and it rains most of the time anyway.

Nice!

Increasing office space in the area should set up the Larkwill Park office parcels for some good projects.

Agreed that some height would be nice.
I expect this is about the same height as the Post and BC Hydro buildings?

Interesting I was just daydreaming if they could tear down the Amec building next door and redeveloping that block.

You've got to think the City owned parkade next to it won't be far behind.

Looks like those Granville St extra height increases for things like social housing or lower rent rate rentals will be released for consideration in January. Took them long enough of talk.

If things go well in 2021 we might see 3 tower proposals by the end of the year pop up.

Nice look. I wonder if that parkade's days are numbered now.

I hope the parkade survives a few more years. I'm thinking a future council should be able to come up with a better proposal for that site then the current council would likely propose.

Yeah, ideally the parkade would be redeveloped once at least some viewcones are eliminated and there are increased height allowances in the downtown core.

Its just an FSR increase from 3.50 to 5, there's no height increase.

I think shadowing might be big as well.

I'm not quite understanding 22 storeys and 450 feet height. For that number of storeys, I'd be expecting something closer to 300 feet. Am I missing something?

The city website is wrong. The booklet (linked above) says it's 302 feet high.

I wonder if the remainder of the Amec lot has any potential to be redeveloped?

There would be parking under the Amec Building Plaza.
The lot to the north on Beatty is the underground parking for the 550 Beatty loft condos, and then there's a more recent midrise condo north of that on Beatty.

Also druggies need they vitamin D. With that being the case with this project, I have no high hopes for anything taller than 14 stories to eventually replace the parkade. If I would have to guess, it will be a social housing project by the city.
