The old Knight & Day restaurant appears to be very close to demolition. Big bin outside and the landscaping has been scraped away.

What's going in at that plot of land?

This is from Aug 2018 for the Knight & Day site - may not be current:

Evidently the detailed drawings were submitted to Surrey Planning just yesterday and they've already held scoping meetings. So hopefully we hear more about this project which is in the Innovation Boulevard area soon.

This is the project and where it is, screenshot from the planning report Oct 1, 2018:

Yea, the application page shows it's pretty close to being through the red tape. This means we might see a presentation centre soon?

The project is called Belvedere by Square Nine Developments.

It's been increased in height since that rendering from 25 to 27 Storeys. The website now says 30-Storeys but it could be wrong.

Good. I think the towers are perfectly suitable for the location in my opinion.

It's directly south of Landmark Cinema at Guildford Mall and there are two existing high-rise towers. The petitions mostly came from the residents of 7-storey senior apartments and they are the one telling the city to approve only "four-storey building like the rest of the area".

101 Avenue isn't overused as they claim to be and the change and density needs to come sooner or later.

Didn't see this shared but the Urban Surrey blog already posted an update render of "Sequoia" and application page.

https://masonlink.ca/our-projects/104-133/
"24 stories | 260 Units (More details to be announced)"

Corner of 104th and 133rd in Surrey, near the Wave and Linea towers. Very striking design and two thumbs up from here.

Thanks!

They should get rid of the token amount of brick on the podium.

So Mason Link bought bought Wave and Linea from Rize?
There's no mention of it being related to Rize.
Their brochure says that its parent Fountana was founded in 1996.

Surrey Central Hub

Looks like this is west of (behind) the new SFU building.
The render has 26 floors, but the description says it will have 43 floors!!

Project Pacific Inn

What's that "Surrey Central Hub" project (tall tower and midrise tower)?

It looks like Central City Hub is a "twin tower", possibly to the Sequoia that was mentioned?

They also say they are building the "South Surrey Hotel", a prominent monument for 3 decades... Is that the pink palace?

If the pink palace was the Pacific Inn, yes.
That's the one that had the big atrium?

Looks like Sequoia is the SW corner of 133 at 104 and Surrey Central Hub is on the NE corner of 133A at 102A.
Surrey Central Hub looks to be west of (behind) the new SFU Building and Prime on the Plaza.
Looks like there will be a lot between it and the SFU building along 102A for an SFU expansion.

The Linea website says "Rize - Developer. Mason Link - Financial Partner"

The Pink Palace redevelopment is actually pretty huge, and it will have DoubleTree by Hilton (finally we get one in metro Van, I stayed in one in Portland and they are very nice). Apparently they were just going to reno the existing hotel before but now the entire property is being redeveloped:

South Surrey is growing at an insane pace, they definitely need a hotel around there now, and this development looks pretty nice

Are there any other hotels around the Lower Mainland with big atriums like that?
The Best Western (?) on North Road was demolished, wasn't it? Any others?

Thanks for sharing! I also like that they are adding convention space as well:

Quote:
There will also be a four-storey convention centre with 41,200 sq. ft. of conference and meeting space — more than four times the space of the existing building.
