I hate that addition on the building next door.

The open plaza with the columns exposed what much more grand in appearance and played nicely off Waterfront Station across the street.

That cornice around the top is awful.
It's like adding crown moldings to the inside of a westcoast modern house.

Lobby "upgrades" and reclad on 333 Seymour are both architectural vandalism. Transforming one of the most expressive office buildings downtown into a generic blob of seafoam glass. I expected much better from PCI.

It's a shame what is being done to 333 Seymour. That was one of the more interesting office towers in downtown.

I guess it's a compliment that tacky architecture is still appreciated 40 years later.

They tore down this thing to make the dome for 333 Seymour:

Thank god for that dome then. Because today they would have wanted to preserve that itty bitty brick building just because it's brick and was built 100 years ago.

Canada isn't Greece guys. Just because something was built 100 years ago it doesn't mean it needs to be protected. Time and place. If you want these projects protected, give up on the dumb view cones.

We can't have view cones, height restrictions AND protect anything older than my grandma AND expect cheap real estate.

PCI came late to the party. They weren't involved in the design.

I'm a bit confused, the core is generally not ahead of the slabs on a concrete construction like this.

It looks like a steel building going up but it is definitely formed concrete, or could be some type of hybrid approach.

I've been watching that core going higher, but not the floors. Looking down at it (as the tweet image shows) there's no obvious rebar to continue forming concrete columns, so I was wondering if the frame shifts to steel from this point up. There's no commentary in DP report, and the rezoning was for the previous design by different architects, so that's not relevant. The architect's website doesn't mention the structure either. I guess we'll see soon.
