I spent 4 years in London. There were two cab companies at the time. One had normal expectations. The other was insane. Better than an amusement park ride. Didn't matter which driver or car.

But yeah, Toronto's streetcar system is pretty idiosyncratic in how much it mixes with traffic. We kind of take that as a baked-in flaw with streetcar systems, but it doesn't have to be that way. I get tripped out every time I'm there that in places where there's an island stop (I don't know what they're called--these things) that cars are allowed to drive on the tram side of the platform, potentially blocking the tram from reaching the platform. No wonder they're always getting stuck in traffic.
They do have a shitty job, yeah, and deal with a lot, but I’ve never really found the drivers to be insufferable or anything.

Yeah, the way streetcars are in Toronto isn’t the only way to do streetcars. Hell, even within Toronto, the Spadina line is a bit different (though still quite slow). Some of the issues with speed/efficiency on the TTC streetcars can be easily fixed in ways akin to what the King St Pilot Project accomplished.

Yeah - I’d hang about a 48x36 version of that print on my living room wall.

I could stare at that for hours....holy crap. That's just gorgeous. Calgary has quite an incredible, strongly defined and yet still growing skyline which is best summed up in images like the one shown there.

The kind of picture where you would never guess that there could be a wooden shack lurking just a short distance away.

How late do golf courses in Edmonton stay open in the summer? I imagine you'd have enough light to finish a round at 10:30 in June/July.

That first Edmonton shot is fantastic.

A few Ottawa-Gatineau shots from Rideau Falls.

Looking just south-west of the Falls at old City Hall on Green Island and the Lester B. Pearson Building. Both house offices of Global Affairs.

The next two are titled towards the north towards Hull.
