It depends. Atlanta's tallest is 1,040 feet to the spire - and Atlanta is a capital city.

This would make Texas only the 2nd state with two cities with supertalls. It would also make Austin the smallest metro/city with a supertall.

I've been to Atlanta and because of that one visit, I love the downtown skyline, food, sports teams and the State of Georgia in general. So I have to assume you were presenting, tongue in cheek. You have a ton of skyscrapers that I consider signature towers and can only wish we had more of here. Glad to have you moving here, in fact proud you chose here, but don't look in your rearview mirror when you leave Atlanta, you might decide to stay. I would be happy with ANY one of your top ten over this proposed tower. If we are drooling over the design because its a super tall, its like me going to a football game because I love football, but don't really care for either team playing like when my wife makes me take her to a Longhorn game. It lessens the enthusiasm somewhat. I can't root for this tower because it so tall, but I won't shoot it down either. Its just not what I envision our first and maybe only supertall should look like. Just me I suppose.

What I said is that I live in Atlanta and that we don’t build any tall towers here anymore. I’m aware that Atlanta has tall buildings but those were all built many decades ago in the past...

Sorry if I came across as rude.

I’ve seen some lists put the BOA in Atlanta at 1,023 feet. I’ve also seen 1,060 used for it too. Those plus your 1,040 feet.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List..._United_States

I’m inclined to go with your number Kevin because you’re a perfectionist at getting building heights. Which makes you very trustworthy. But if BOA really is 1,023 feet then Austin’s building at 1,030 will have it beat by 7 feet which is so cool!

If both Austin and Dallas can get a supertall built, then TX will move ahead of CA with 3 cities. TBH, if the one in Austin gets built then CA and TX are tied, and TX would have the greater potential of adding a 3rd city to the ranks since SD, SJ, and OAK all have height limits or build short and Sacramento, Fresno, and Bakersfield don’t have the demand or also have serious height limits.

I had always seen 1,023 also. The 1,040 foot height is listed on SkyscraperPage's database page, which cites the CTBUH's website.

Yes...but, Dallas does not currently have an active supertall proposal. Someday, maybe.

Wow! I wish some of those computer model renderings were a little zoomed out. It is a little hard to piece together the overall context, but there are so many it can be done. This is the treatment this stretch of Waller Creek has always deserved!

The latest info makes it clear that 99 Red River/Block 190 is later Phase II project. So I'll split this thread into separate threads for each building.

I know I'm in the minority but I like the design of the building from the first picture more. Glass looks good both day and night, especially with light purple-silver panel glass.
The brick pattern? Is this really in "demo" mode? Meaning it's real possibility to be built?

These renderings all appear to be for the 14th level office amenities level. The hotel amenities levels are 14 and 15 on the other side of the podium.

Much like the hotel amenities level, plans for the 74th floor residential amenities levels don't seem to be fleshed out enough to have renderings.

There is no one smoking gun drawing for the exact height. But according to the latest info it is at least 1,030 feet. That's 1482' - 452' (lowest obvious point of public access). There are hundreds of drawings, and I passed them on to Kevin to snoop through because he's always good at searching out height info.

I haven't posted all of the renderings, but the remaining ones are similar to what has already been posted at ground level.

Thank you anonymous sources!
